Default ATTENTION POKER PLAYERS: CARNIVAL HAS TEXAS HOLD 'EM

On my last cruise it was very hard to get a poker game together on the Fascination. For those of you have been on the Fascination, the texas hold em table is no where near the casino. In fact it is quite a distance back by the "puttin' on the ritz" bar. I wish carnival would advertise the texas hold em a little better, that way I wouldnt have to wait for a game to much. I started getting frustrated when passengers would waddle to the back of the ship and say "I didnt know they had poker back here."

Why doesn't carnival find it important to advertise, especially in the casino? The only reason I knew where it was is because on our last cruise in October they had it advertised in the Carnival Capers. But on this cruise it was not in any program, nor was there a sign present.

Victory has one of those PokerPro computerized tables with no dealer. And it's right in the main casino. And they have tournaments nearly every day, sometimes two or more.

Just so you know, the tournaments are one-table jobs, kind of like Sit-and-go's if you're used to playing online. Buy ins ranged from $25 (20+5) to $60 (50+10).

The rake was a little steep, but I guess that table isn't cheap.

The Conquest has Texas Hold'em, 1 table that played $2-$4 the first night and $5-$10 the rest of the time. Floor manager said that if everyone wanted to changed the stakes they could by voting......but the dealer never would let you ask anyone what they wanted to do. Just kept saying this is how it is. Most of the people sent over to deal were not educated in dealing Hold Em and some had some problems. I played one night for a few hours.
It got to be too much of a hassle to try to correct the dealer.
Seems they think people dont want to play, they quit playing during supper, and getting on the table is a hit and miss

I absolutely noted this. Just got off the Fascination again this weekend, and actually the texas hold em was advertised so we had a good game going for a large portion of the cruise. However, some of the dealers were completely clueless as to how texas hold em works. Myself and others were continously correcting the dealers on the specifics of the game.
