Can anyone who has cruised to the Bahamas in late September, early October, give me some helpful hints, ship excursions that they did, non-affiliated excursions that you did that you were thrilled with, info about excursions that you weren't happy with, etc. We'll be at Half Moon Cay, Nassau and Grand Turk with one day at sea. This is only my second cruise but this cruise entails some more planning than my Imagination cruise in early May. I already know I need to pack lightweight raincoats and umbrellas, and our snorkels.... I'll listen to whatever anyone has to say. Thanks in advance!!
We have been to Nassau 3 times. The city/fort tour is really not
worth your time. I wished we had gone snorkeling. The last
time we were there, we took a taxi to the Atlantis Resort. ($4.00pp
each way) We bought tickets to the Atlantis Digs. It was just okay.
I have seen better at Disney or Sea World and the price was $29.00pp.
Walking around the grounds was fun. I think you can get a day pass
there, which would be great. Have a fun cruise.
We just got off the trip you are going on. Grand Turk was very nice but depending on what you like to do there. There is only one attraction on the island which is Margaritaville. Which I loved. Huge pool and pool side bar. Everyone congregates there. There is no where else to go. Dont take this as a negative because I loved it. But I do understand this is not everyones cup of tea. Only a few shops to buy things. The beach area is nice. Not crowded because everyone is at Margaritaville. You can also shop at Jimmy Buffets place. He has a store there at his bar. But be aware the drinks are high but strong. Example.. a Margarita in a souvenier glass costs $14.95 and 9.95 for a refill.
I loved it though!!!!!
There are some excursions there like snorkling etc. If you can find a sting ray tour I would suggest you do it. They are like the puppies of the sea. They strive for attention and there skin is as smooth as silk. I did that one in Grand Cayman last year and it was incredible.
