Just rebooked in Jan., because I was just told on Priceline that if you are a previous customer with Carnival you can get an instane upgrade. I was booked as a 4c Upper interior, and the agent told me there is a limited deal where you can move to any level interior. That translates to balcony 80% of the time, once the upgrades start in my exp.
Are you signed up with Carnival to get their email specials? I get these almost every week with similar offers. These are usually limited to certain ships and sailings. Of course if that's the cruise you're looking at it's a great deal!
I wouldn't count on a balcony upgrade, though .
Have a wonderful cruise, wherever you end up!
(BTW, where's your cruise countdown clock )

Never even checked my e-mail. I just called Priceline.com and asked to change a 7 day west carribean cruise from the Carnival Valor to the Miracle on Jan. 7, to get rid of the Honduras port of call. The Priceline rep let me know I could bump my 4c interior cabin up to an Upper deck balcony cabin for $10 more per person, because I was a prior customer.
NEVER SET UP COUNTDOWN TIL CRUISE. Wife and I will be on the Carnival Miracle Jan. 7- Jan. 14 Western Carribean cruise. I don't think that's the slow season, could be wrong, just know I got a big upgrade, believe if you wnt to.
The week you are sailing is considered an "off week", people like to book cruises over the Christmas/New Year's holidays so the period immediately following in January/February, you can get some good deals, then prices go up again thru school break months then come down again the latter part of April/May.
