Default Celebration in Jacksonville... Hotel/free parking/shuttle?

OK, we were going to drive (8 hours) & jump on the ship.... My lovely daughter wants to poke around in Jacksonville & see the sights.... SO, I am looking for a Hotel/motel that is reasonable that offers FREE parking during our 5 days on the Celebration & also FREE shuttle service to the ship..... Please help me out, we depart on Sept. 9th.....

There are several hotels near the JAX airport. I think all of them would provide shuttle service to the pier. Driving time from the airport to the pier is aprox. 15 min. The airport and the pier is on the northern side of Jacksonville.. so if you're on I-95, as soon as you cross the FL border you will see the airport exit signs. When we went on this cruise 3 yrs. ago, there were several hotel vans waiting for passengers and most of them were from the airport hotels. Our son and daughter-in-law lived about 5 min. from the pier and there are several nice beaches near this area. Downtown Jacksonville is about 20 minutes from the airport. Downtown Jacksonville is very nice, there is an area called the "Landing" that is directly on the waterfront and there several restaurants and shops.
A beautiful area to visit if you have time is St. Augustine. It's on I-95 and is about an hour from Jacksonville, going South.
We had a great time on this cruise...it's an older ship, but very clean and the staff was wonderful.

Thanks, that helps..... We have a month to get our ducks in a row...
Will have my daughter to take a look....
I looked at Air Tran that have flights for $96.00 (plus..plus) from Gulfport, MS to Jacksonville BUT no early flights so will have to drive (will hitch hike if gas goes above $4.00 a gallon ).....

I took a look at the Hampton Inn, looks good.... Free parking for the cruise & free shuttle service to the ship.... Also free hot breakfast or a sack lunch on the run..... $121 a night with taxes so if you take off the $60 terminal parking you are at the Hampton for $61 & you get a free breakfast plus you miss the hassle of parking at the terminal......
