Hi there! My roommate and I are gonna be on the Pride (Mexican Riviera) starting 10/22/06. We are both celebrating our big 3-0. Anyone on these mesg boards going on this cruise? We are very outgoing and like to meet new people! Also, she has been on carnival before and I have not. I was on a celebrity cruise and loved it. Can anyone make a celebrity/carnival comparison for me? I'm pretty laid back but I have these Kathy Gifford/screaming children nightmares. Needless to say I am not that motherly and don't wish to spend my vacation around rugrats. Any info would be great. And if you are going on this cruise I can't wait to hear from you! Go White Sox!

We haven't sailed Celebrity, but I think you'll love Carnival! Usually the children are in Camp Carnival having their own fun . Carnival is much more laid back than Celebrity.

If either (or both) of you are celebrating your birthday onboard be sure to let your TA know. You'll probably get door decorations and a cake at dinner 8) !

i don't like to cruise when theres alot of kids try crusing in the fall when
the kids are back in school we get a good price with carnival

whitesoxgirl- you really can't compare cruise line to cruise line, its like comparing apples to oranges. Each one is different and appeals to a different demographic. Carnival is definately more casual than Celebrity.

I was looking to get away this Xmas but realized that this holiday would probably have more kids on it. So I elected to take the new years cruise instead.

Don't worry about it. You will be able to let your hair down and do what you want. Just don't shock the kids. They don't include that sort of behavior on Seaseme Street.
