Default Taking bottled water/soda onboard

How are you guys taking bottled water and sodas on board?

Are you just walking on the ship thru security with them, are they packed somehow? I just never thought this would be possible.

Hi Dot,
Yes, you can carry soda and water onboard, either in checked luggage or carry-on. Not sure I'd trust soda in my checked luggage, especially the way its piled up and tossed around..

We only did soda once. Donna is right, you do take the chance of it spilling, or exploding. We also take a couple of bottles of water. The ships water is great, so we just refill our water bottles, as we use them. They are great for taking off the ship for excursions. Also, don't forget to take a insulated mug. The cups and glasses on ship are kind of small, so you can fill up your mug, and take it with you where ever you go.

We'll be driving down to Galveston so I'm suspecting we'll carry water on with us.

Might think about sodas now, lol. I'm a Diet Coke person in the morning, have to have one to start my day!

I do take a mug for tea/water thru-out the day so that's not new, but sure didn't realize we can bring water/soda onboard!

THANKS so much!!!!

FYI Carnival has a Coke contract, so any soda sold on board are coke products. Your Diet Coke is covered.

We always take soda and water, in addition to alcoholic beverages. We don't fly, so we give it to the porters in our cooler. On the first day we speak to the cabin steward about keeping the cooler iced up. Has never been an issue. We've also gotten ice on our own one year when the steward wasn't that on top of the cooler.

I, too, have taken on a small bottle of alcohol and a couple bottles of wine without issue. You can't do this once you are on the cruise, but at embarkation, I have never heard of anyone having a problem.

The good thing about taking water, soda on board is that you don't bring it home, and that allows room for stuff you buy on your trip.
