Planning a cruise for our 5th year anniversary

We are going on a cruise for our 5th year anniversary. We aren't going on our actual anniversary because we want to wait till our son is a year old so we are waiting until May when he will almost be 13 months (we are going alone and leaving the kids with the inlaws). Any way we have been on a cruise before but really weren't prepaired. What are any tips that you have for us. We didn't pay too much attention to anything but each other the first cruise because it was our honey moon.

Congrats on your anniversary and going on a cruise. Have you picked one yet? What kind of advice are you looking for? What to wear? What to do?

Yeah we are going to Mexico. Any advice really. Yes what to do and wear. This time I think we will have two formal dinners since we are going on a 7 day cruise. We only went on a 3 day last time. We had no clue about spa stuff the gym there or anything. We found out most things our last day on the cruise and wished we had done some stuff.

A seven day will be real nice. Which ship and ports of call? Lots of very experienced people on this board who would chime in. I haven't been on one of the cruises with Mexican ports of call yet. I walked through the gym on my ship and it was very nice. I skipped the spa all together. hahaha

Hi dragonmom, In Jan. We are going on a cruise for our 10th anniversary and we opted to renew our vows. We are excited, My first penthouse sweet.

We haven't finalized the cruise completely yet so I will have to get the details tonight. We are using Carnival cruise. We were so excited about booking it we forgot all the ports because we were choosing from 2 different ones. I know Cozumel is one of the stops.

RZ - was that your post I was reading the other day about surprising your DW with the vow renewal and ring/proposal at first nights dinner?

I told my DH all about it - we celebrate our 10th a week before we cruise and I thought it was a great idea!

Congratualtions! Sounds like a W. Caribbean itinerary. Be sure to find the thread about "What did you forget to bring that you really needed" started by Libragirl. Some great ideas in there, go begin with. There is a wealth of information out there from some real pros!
