Default Guidelines for wine and booze???

Ok, I know this question has been answered 100 times but I can't seem to find much when I do a search.

What are the guidelines for bringing your own Liquor or Wine. I would like to bring my own Wine and My DH likes a particular rum. I'm scared to put it in my luggage.

I know someone who had wine bust in their suitcase on a cruise?? (sorry dorthy hehehe) Any suggestions????

You are allowed I believe 2 bottle of fine wine or champagne.

This topic has been bantered around quite a bit lately. Check out the "Liquor and Shops on Board" thread on this board. Officially: 2 bottles of fine wine and sodas can be brought on board at embarkation. Unofficially (and my own experience): I have taken on wine, a small bottle of rum, beer, sodas. All packed carefully in the middle of my suitcase to give some cushion. I have never had a problem, nor has anyone I have ever spoken with. I liked the convenience of having a drink on the balcony or while getting dressed for dinner.
