RoseTattoo got it right. They close off the cabin decks until 1:30, or very close to it. Last week on the Glory, they allowed us through the fire doors at about 1:15 but still didn't really open the doors until 1:30. (I think they felt sorry for us just sitting on the stairs waiting for the doors to open)
See you aboard,
you need to look at another cruise line such as Celebrity where you are escorted to your room with a fresh glass of champagne. Noway would I sit on the stairs period. To each is own however have been on 30 plus cruises and know where the first class service lies.
No, they won't turn you back. In fact I'd suggest bein there by noon. But as the other posters stated, we were asked/told to stay out of the room until 1:30. We never tried to go, so I didn't see any locked doors. The party is goin the moment you board, so no sense waitin and gettin stuck in long lines.
Swhli....we usually arrive at the pier between 11:00-11:30 a.m. and are onboard no later than 12:00-12:30 p.m. The buffet is open for lunch, the drinks are flowing, the music is playing....you'll have lots of time before the Muster Drill to explore the ship, have a drink and lunch. After lunch, we relax on the Lido deck until they open the fire doors and make our way to our room. Don't choose a cruise line because they give you a glass of champagne and escort you to your room....I prefer Killians myself and I can find my own way to my stateroom.
Wow Big Apple. Only 30 cruises? You'd better get cruizin' to catch up with the lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) and me, with well over 125. Yes, we're at the Platinum level on Celebrity too, but that's not what we always want on a cruise. Sometimes it's good to experience other things besides champagne, and being led to the room. (We currently have two cruises booked with Celebrity, as well as 4 with other lines) Anyway, get your bookings in order, and then let me know when you catch up, so you can inform me about cruising.
