Default Cabin question on Imagination ???

This is the first cruise for me and my DH and I have several questions that I hope someone can help me with. Our son booked it for us under the miltary friends/family rate as an inside guarantee. We sail on the Imagination on 9/25/06. We got our cabin assignment and it is #M17 which I understand is in the front of the ship. My question is...how much motion is there in this cabin? My DH is prone to motion sickness. I talked to a Carnival PVP and they said it would cost us $20 each to change cabins even though the price of the cruise has gone down since we booked. Should we pay to upgrade? Which cabin is best? Or should we hold out until we board to see if they assign us a different cabin? How likely is that? If not can we still change cabins when boarding? It's all so confusing!

Hi Wish4much,

Yes, you will probably feel more motion in M17 than amidships. If your PVP can get you a cabin amidships it would certainly be worth the $40.00!

Once you have a cabin assigned, it's not likely that it will change, and there's almost no chance that you'll be able to change cabins once you're onboard. Most ships are sailing full these days!

Be sure to bring Bonine for your DH (have him try it at home first) so that your cruise won't be ruined by seasickness .

Have a wonderful cruise!

Hi Wish4much,we were on her last week 5 day cruise to Grand Cayman, and then to Ocho Rios.We were on the main deck, but aft(rear)...we felt no movement on ANY part of the ship, except a rainy night leaving Grand Cayman.I was totally surprised with this ship...excellent.Also there are not any mini fridges on this deck in the statesrooms.

Thanks Fern and Will! I will be calling our PVP tomorrow for sure! I'm so thankful for all the information and help I've received from this board. You guys are great!

Will....since you just got back from the Imagination do you by chance have the capers? What shore excursions did you do and did you enjoy them? I would love to hear more of your review!

Hi Wish4much,yes we have the daily capers(wife is a collector of them ).....any particular queston you would like from them please ask? Also, the wife and I did not do an excursion in Grand Cayman...only shopping, but my kids did the stingray, and snorkeling there, and they said it was great.

In Ocho Rios we took the city cab(van) tour to get the history of the island told again, and it was great.Took us up to a grabbing area...ooops I mean shopping area were we could watch, and take pictures of the people doing the Dunn's River crossing.....very very funny. We were the only ship in port that day,so it was funny seeing a lot of people who we met on board doing this crossing, and having such a great tme. After the tour he dropped us off at the entrance to Margaritaville.

Will, I was just wondering a couple of things about the Imagination. Did you go to any comedy shows and who was the comedian? Also, my sister-in-law was wondering about the spa. Did they have any specials listed in the capers for the spa? She would like to take advantage of the spa if it isn't too expensive. We booked a private sightseeing tour with Trevor Hudlin for Ocho Rios. He was highly recommended on this and another board so hopefully it will be fun. Glad you and your family had a great time on your cruise! And thanks for the info.

Hi,the comedian was HILARIOUS!! I cannot remember his name, but he was great! both shows mild, and adults only.He reminded me of Comedian Martin Lawrence.

The Spa Specials:

Ladies Pamper Night $50

Specials of the day

Pamper Package $69
This includes a Spa facial,Frangipani scalp ritual
and Foot and ankle massage.

Aromaflex $79
Oriental pressure point therapy
Followed by a back, neck, and shoulder massage.

Hope this helps.....Any more questions please! ask away

Will
