Default Should I upgrade to a suite from a mini suite?

I just got my room assignment for the Fantasy sailing Oct 9. I had booked a suite guarentee. I got cat. 11, verandah, cabin v2. It is a 5 day cruise and I'm taking my mom. It will cost $500 for an upgrade to a regular penthouse suite. Is it worth it? Is the penthouse suite that much better? Any comments would be so appreciated. Thanks.

We had a Cat 11 on the Spirit with 4 of us in the cabin. We had plenty of room to move about and storage/closet space.

We now have a Cat 12 booked for March on the Conquest. I would be curious about the difference as well!

I went ahead and upgraded. Partially because my cabin was so far in the front of the boat I was afraid of seasickness. I went ahead and spent the extra $500 and I'm not looking back. I hope the cat 12 is nice.

That sounds wonderful. I hope the two of you will come back and let us know how you liked it.

I've asked about this several times with Priceline.comcustomer service, and the answer is. Depending on where you book your cruise, as far as cabin level, and how well your cruise is selling, has a direct if your getting an upgrade or not. I booked inside cheapest room and got bumped up three levels to oceanveiw Upper Level on my 2nd cruise. Have another one coming up in Jan. booked lower level oceanview already up to balcony 7a with upgrade. My advise, stay put, you will get bumped up for free, if your cruise is not selling that well.
