Default Cash withdrawals????

I have two questions that I need help with......

1) Are there any ATM's on Carnival ships???

2) Can you withdraw cash from the casino with your ship's card??? If so, is there a charge????

Thank you to those who reply.......

There are ATMs, but watch out for the service charges.

And in the casino cash withdrawls on your sail and sign card are charged a 3% service fee.

Your Sail & Sign card will place a $200 credit hold on you Debit or Master Charge card, I believe for 2 people it is $400.... If you go crazy in the Casino or to many drinks & use up the $400 then your Sail & Sign card will stop working & you have to go down to replinish it with a lartger credit hold.... I may be a little wrong on all of this so I'am sure some others will help out.... You can also put down a Cash Deposit on your Sail & Sign card.....

Actually, I think it's $250 at a time. When your S&S balance gets to $250, they will pre-auth another 250, and so on, until you either settle your account or leave the ship.

As for the OP - I used the ATM on Victory one time, there was a $5.50 service charge, plus the $2 my bank charged me, for a total of $7.50 on a $200 withdrawal. That was 3.75%. The casino is a flat rate 3%. You can either get it at the cashier, at a table game or directly from a slot machine. The first time you use it for cash, you will need to establish a pin, like an ATM card.

I have only established the SS card with a credit card. If you choose cash do they make you put down a cash deposit at check in or after the cruise?

We use travelers checks. They can be cashed at the ship's Information Desk. And of course they are fully refundable if lost or stolen. Here is a quote from Carnival's FAQ's.

Quote:
Traveler's Checks can be cashed on board at the Information Desk; since Traveler's Checks are considered as cash, there is no fee for this check cashing service and no limit to the dollar amount cashed.

Thanks for your tip on the Travelers Checks, I may try that this year instead of carrying a wad of cash....

Yes, if you choose to pay in cash at check in they will require a deposit. (I think it's $250.00) When you get close to the limit they'll notify you and you'll have to bring more cash to the Purser's desk.

If you use a credit card at check in, when you win big in the casino , you can take the charges off of your credit card and pay in cash!
