Default Trouble sleeping on your cruise?

Last year when we went on our first cruise my husband had a hard time sleeping because the bed was somewhat uncomfortable. Has anyone else had a hard time and if so what did you do? I think he's going to take some egg-crate in his suitcase this time. Thanks!

Carnival has undergone a program to upgrade all beds on their ships. Reports are that they are wonderful! The need to ask for egg crate pads seems to be eliminated or significantly reduced.

Take care,
Mike

Mike is right. The new beds are great. The only problem I have on a cruise, is sleeping too much! I think I'll miss too much of the action if I'm not careful. The new Carnival beds are very comfortable, and the gentle rocking of the ship, plus not having to worry about the phone, or pager puts me out light a light. I come home feeling very rested.

Doesn't really matter to me as my wife says I could sleep
on a bed of nails.

We had the best sleep ever on the Conquest. I was a truck driver for 12 years and I thought that sleeping in the bunk of an idling truck was the best until I experienced sleeping on the seas. The Conquest already had already moved to "comfort bedding". http://www.carnivalcomfortbed.com/

My entire vacation experience depends on what type of bed, bedding, pillows the hotel or the ship has. I can honestly say that I loved the bedding on the Carnival Spirit in May. The sheets were wonderful and the duvet was so soft and comfortable and I thought the mattress was just perfect!
I love the fact that no phones will ring when I'm taking a nap and I just love the gentle rocking of the ship at night. OH...to be back on a ship right now!!!HAHA, instead of working at this desk all day.

I have trouble sleeping, so being on a ship, I thought, would be a real challenge, but it tuned out to be the best of sleep time.

I slept great last month- and I usually take a sleeping pill to sleep but didn't on the cruise since we did some drinking! The bed was very comfortable.

Your going to love these new beds They are totally different than a few years ago with the old beds .

We sailed on the Valor in May, and I slept like a baby every night, and every afternoon

No need to worry about that .
Happy Sailing;
David

on Carnival I slept like a baby and I expected the same on Carib Princess last year. The mattress was terribly lumpy and uncomfortable. I found myself more comfortable in the lounge chair on the balcony. I expected brand new and most comfortable mattress on a new ship.

I don't know if Carnival had already been sneaking these new beds on in 2004 (Aug.) when we sailed on the Inspiration, but my hubby raved about how well he was sleeping. When I got back I decided to send Carnival a letter about the great time we had on the cruise and my husband insisted that I mention how well we slept and ask them where they buy their beds. Apparently other people have inquired too because you are able to purchase them now. We tried to purchase one last January, but they were all out. So they are flying out the door. Still haven't purchased one because some things came up financially, but we plan too.

Default Caribbean Princess

I had a fabulous bed on the CP. I slept better there than at home. I love it when you can feel the gentle roll of the ocean.

the only sleeping problems that we have had on a cruise is getting up in the morning.

Nope, I've never had a problem sleeping, especially with the rocking motion, puts me right to sleep after a busy cruise day. Some of the ships are putting in new bedding, may-be the next cruise you take will have that and make a difference...

My husband who normally has trouble sleeping, sleeps like a baby on a cruise ship. I on the other hand can't stop thinking about everything going on and sometimes have to take Tylenol PM.

I've never had any problems sleeping. The swaying motion rocks you to sleep like a baby If your cabin is near a bunch of drunk loudmouths who still romp around at midnight, you might have trouble, though.
