I am in the process of booking an Alaska cruise on the Spirit for May/07. I am trying to decide whether we should go with a Cat. 8G cabin on Verandah deck 7, or Cat. 8I on deck 8, Panorama. This is just below the Lido deck and was wondering if it would be noisy from all the activity up there.
Thanks, Beejo.
That's what I thought. We were offered an upgrade to Panorama deck from Verandah because of being a past guest, but think we'll go with our original choice. Thanks for your help.
Husband and I were just on the Spirit in May and we were in cabin 8171, the Panorama deck and I would not want this cabin again. You have great views, nothing obstructed your view, but like you said it is directly underneath the Lido deck. We could hear scrapping noises from the chairs being moved away from the tables. This noise was worse very early in the morning and of course at lunch and dinner. After a couple of days, it starts to grate on your nerves or at least it did mine. If you can't change decks, I wouldn't worry about it...but like I said before, I wouldn't book this cabin again.
What cabin will you be in?
We loved the cruise in May...we had gorgeous weather the entire week, and the snow on the mountain tops was beautiful, and the waterfalls shooting out of the mountains was my husband's favorite thing.
Hi Judy, Guess what? We were on that same cruise in May. It was our first cruise and we absolutely loved it. We were in 7235 on Verandah deck 7 which has an extended balcony. We loved having the balcony and used it a lot....because as you said, the weather was soooo nice. We stayed on our balcony when we went into Glacier Bay and when we got cold, would go back into our cabin for a few mins. to warm up, then back out again. Thanks so much for the info.....appreciate it very much.

Hi again Judy, Oops! spoke too soon. I just read some of your postings and realised that we were on a different one. We were on the Vancouver round trip that left May 10th.
