Newbie here with a question

Hi, I just found you guys, so I hope I can join in? :) My DH and I have been on 3 carnival cruises, but that was before we had a child. We now have a 3 yr old daughter. So my question is will a 3 year old be okay on a carnival cruise? Will she be bored? Any input would be much appreicated :D Thanks in advance

I think that you would want a Disney cruise.

Carnival has a thing called Camp Carnival. Camp Carnival is a year-round, fleet-wide program that provides daily fun-filled and age appropriate activities for children and teenagers between the ages of 2 and 15 years old. In addition, there is supervised "free play" and babysitting service. The play room on each Carnival ship comes completely stocked with toys, games, and puzzles for children for all ages. In addition, each ship has an electronic game room filled with all of the latest video games.

Toddlers (ages 2-5) -- Splash pool, fund family games, late night munchies, cartoon time, little tykes toys, learn your colors, can you count, sponge painting, indoor beach parties, mousercize, pizza pig out, drawing contests, sing-alongs, bingo, face painting, arts and crafts, cookie decorating

If that works for your child and you, it should be just dandy. :D Have fun.

Carnival does have a program for the young ones but not sure what age they start at... SOOOO if you have to keep your 3 year old along your side it may cut into your nightime activities.... I will have a new grandson soon & we will do a cruise in his first year, we will plan the cruise around the little rascal......

Welcome to CruiseMates, Deamarie!

We will be taking our 2 1/2 year old grandaughter with us in November on the Ecstasy. I will be able to tell you more after that. I have never read anything negative about Camp Carnival for the little ones, so I think it will work out well.

If you have any other questions, you have come to the right place. Even though I have been on several cruises, I have picked up a lot of useful information and feel like I have made some wonderful new friends. We all love to cruise and live vicariously through those going before us!

took my two girls last december, then 4 and 1. They had a blast. My oldest loved camp carnival and I had to drag her out of it every night!!! They are really great with them. Also they have a parent/child time every day that you can go in with them and play. In 2 months we are cruising again. And with 10 plus kids in the group and actually we chose Carnival for their kids activities!!!! She will have a blast. You dont have to pay disney prices to have fun!!!

Sounds great on my end with taking My Sis and Nephew. I was concerned about them bothering other people with them crying or running around.

Camp Carnival starts at age 2. I took my grandson when he was 4, and it was all I could do to get him to leave every day! Those camp counselors are fantastic with kids. I watched for a few minutes before leaving him the first day - he forgot about me in 2 seconds flat! They do so many fun activities, and I was given a pager just in case there should be a problem. None, of course, and now he says "Can we go to Camp Carney again".... every time I see him.

I think it's a wonderful way for families to enjoy cruising together. Adults get to do their own thing without worrying about the kids.
