Default Cruising out of Miami...Question

I am cruising out of Miami on the Valor in October. I am wondering where is the best place to stay as we are flying in the day prior to embarkation. If my wife and I wanted to stay in South Beach, is it terribly inconvenient as opposed to staying near the port in Downtown? I'm looking for a nice hotel, doesn't have to be the Ritz, just someplace to get the vacation started on the right note. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The wife and i sailed on the Valor in May. Its an awesome ship Your going to have a great time

We stayed at the downtown Holiday Inn across the street from the Bayside Market place. Very nice motel. Its Clean, and has good service. Also has an on-site dining area. From our room, I could see the ships come in Sunday morning.
Bayside market place is directly across the street, from the motel . You can enjoy the scenery, and has a number of places to hang out at, and several good places to eat.
Enjoy your precruise stay, and your cruise

We sailed on the Valor last year and stayed in the Hampton Inn by the airport. The rooms were nice and it was a good price.

We also stayed at the Holiday Inn in front of the pier and bayside. It is great for a precruise motel. The sevice is good and the rooms are very clean. The price is reasonable. What I like is that you don`t need to rent a car since Bayside is right across the street. Great food, good music and last minute shopping if necessary. They do not have a shuttle service.

David West is absolutely right. I live in Miami and know the area pretty well.......56 year well. You will enjoy going to Bayside Market Place before your cruise and the Holiday Inn is probably the best place to stay.

I hope everyone has a wonderful cruise!
