Default VIP Check-in

I got my cruise docs yesterday in the mail, so I am super happy about that. I got a question about VIP check-in. I have heard rumors that if Carnival knows your cruise you are taking is your hunnymoon which it is for my wife and I, that you can use VIP check-in. Is this a little known secret or just some wild idea I have flying through my head? Also if we need to stand in line with the rest of the cruise passengers, are there benches to sit on, or are you forced to stand for long periods of time. I recently had knee surgery, and standing for long periods of time puts me into severe pain. I can handle about 20 min of standing before I need to sit to rest my leg. Any suggestions?

I don't know about the VIP checkin for your honeymoon. Congratulations on that! I do think if when you arrive at the port, and enter the check in area, that if you inform any of the Carnival people that you do have a problem with your knee, that they will either get you a wheel chair to use, (and probably slide you into the front of the line as well), or else just put you at the front of the line. They are very good about taking care of special needs, and I have no doubt that they'll take good care of you and your lovely Mrs.
Have a great cruise! (The lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) and I celebrated our honeymoon aboard the Big Red Boat 20 years ago).

We went on the sensation for our Honeymoon and didn't hear anything about that. They will bring you a little cake at dinner though, at least they used to 11 years ago when I got married. Have a great honeymoon! Congrats!

Congrats on the "hunnymoon". I have not heard that "rumor"...however, do have your TA contact Carnival to let them know of your recent surgery. I know it may appear a little extreme, but you can have a wheelchair waiting for you at the embarkation.
Since I come from a LONG line of people who have endured multiple back surgeries..there is a difference between walking a long ways and "just standing". And I never would have thought that until "the experience".

May you have a quick and complete recovery and a wonderful cruise.
PS: Watch those ports. Some of them have cobblestone streets....not good!!!

If you have knee problems, you can request a wheelchair when you get to the port. A room steward will meet you at check in with a wheelchair. You will not have to stand in line at all and the check in process goes fairly quickly. The roomsteward will take you all the way through the checkin process and escort you to your cabin.

Congratulations.

They no longer offer complimentary cakes for any occasion. You can ask your waiter in the dining room, and he will arrange one for you, but I believe the cost is around $7.

Thanks for your help, I called Carnival and she recommended having my wife have a carnival employee get me a wheelchair and said most likely we would be brought to the front of the line too because of the wheelchair need.
