Thanks so much for your virtual cruise! My wife and I are going on our very first cruise on the Holiday out of Mobile on 12/31/07. We will be doing a late celebration of our 25th anniversary and the couple we are going with will be celebrating their 35th! Reading about your cruise was almost like being there! BUT I still want to experience it myself! Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Luanne!
Great tour - I'm sorry I'm reading it 7 months after you posted it. Timeless info though...a big help!!
If I read correctly, the first formal night is Monday night (first sea day). I'm guessing the second one would be on Thursday since the port time is shorter that day.(???) If you get this it'd be great to confirm which nights are formal (maybe there is only one?)
I've not visited cruisemates much since last summer. It was exciting me too much thinking about next cruise and depressing me that the cruise was so far off. But now I'm less than 100 days away and can handle the excitement.

Life's a Beach ... enjoy it on a Cruise!
That is not dumb. Yes, they are able to enjoy the falls. They have very good guides at the falls, who will assist people up the falls, and over the rocks.
Thanks Luanne that was so enjoyable I felt like I was already aboard your an awesome story teller !! I will undoubtable have the best time in my life and thanks again keep up the stories and the useful info you are awesome I am green with envy
Howdy Luanne,

I am so glad you enjoyed it. I wrote it especially for those who have not cruised before, or those who don't have a cruise, and would like to renew the feeling.
Luanne, I hope you tell more secrets of the ship - you had me at hello!(lol)
You are fun to read. I will be sharing your virtual tour with all people who have never cruised and have questions. You are right on. We have never sailed from Galveston yet, but I am looking forward to it one day.
What is the shopping like in Galveston as a pre-cruise stay? I hope we can look forward to more virtuals with you in the future.

Thank you Sally for your comments. I loved writing the virtual tour, because I love to cruise, and the Conquest.
The shopping in Galveston is not all that great. It really depends on what you like, or need.
If you need a little something for the beach, then you should be okay, but if you are talking about some serious shopping, you will need to leave the island, and drive north to a very nice mall. It took us about 30 to 45 minutes to get there.
Wow! I hope you are still keeping up with replies on here. I just discovered this site a day or two ago. My hubby and I are planning our first cruise on the Ecstasy in September for our 20th anniversary. Your posts are extremely helpful and also entertaining! I will reread before leaving and also have my hubby read. Thanks for taking the time to share!
P.S. I am suspicious about your toilet advice, though!
I go a lot of info here before our Ecstasy cruise last November, and thread bump has perfect timing since I just booked a Conquest cruise for November.
Dear Luanne, it was so much fun to read this again before our first Conquest Cruise ! I'm glad you bumped it up. Great memories !
Thanks,

I am LOVING your virtual tour. I am sailing on Conquest December 12, 2010. (Its my graduation cruise, as I am graduating from nursing school that week prior. Don't mean to toot my own horn, but "toot toot").
I am a newbie to carnival, but I am one of those people who likes to know everything and have a really good idea about whats going on before I do something, so THANK YOU!! I have cruised on Grand Princess in Dec 06, but this will be our first, but not last, carnival.
I am reading, and learning, and taking notes, so please don't stop now, we have 6 days left!!
We will be on the Conquest and I was wondering what kind of excursion we should do. We don't know how to snorkle and I understood that is mainly all what one can do in Cozumel, in Grand Cayman we have been to see the sting rays what other fun stuff can we do also in Jaimaica I've noticed many people said they wouldn't even get off the ship in Jaimaica but we have never been so we like to do something.
Our 27yr. old daughter will be with us and we would like to have a good time since the the cruise is her Christmas present.
Thank you,
Leni
It is true that Jamaica can be a little scary, but if you stick with one of Carnivals excursions, you should feel more protected.
Tell me if all of you are able to get around okay. If you can, I would suggest climbing the falls. I think everyone should do it at least once.
There is so much to do in Coz. Go to the Carnival web site. Look at the excursions, and pick out a couple that sound good to you. I have done them all, so I will be able to answer your questions.
Thank you Luanne for all information on the ship and excursions. It was very easy reading. We are planning to sail the Conquest in Oct. so I know this information will be very valuable to my husband and myself. I was laughing, I was taking notes and I felt I was following you through the ship. I loved it. I am sure it was time consuming but very appreciated. Also thanks for bumping this thread I was just browsing the board for the first time when I ran accross your thread and I felt so moved to reply to it that I joined just for that! Although now I am sure to following other posts as well. As I cant get enough info on the Conquest! Thanks again Calee
I realize that you wrote this several years ago, and that the most recent post is almost a year old, but I just wanted to drop you a note of thanks for taking the time and writing it in the first place, and to complement you on your ability to put yourself back into that place of a first time cruiser.
My wife and I are going on Conquest on July 10, on our very first cruise, and we were already so excited that we could hardly wait. After reading your first hand account, strolling the decks with you, going about the daily activities on the ship with you, and enjoying your company over dinner and drinks, I almost feel as if I have been on a cruise now.
Thanks, so much, from a newbie for all the great information, tips, and insight that will make our trip so much easier and more enjoyable.
It clearly shows that the time you spent writing this was obviously a labor of love, and you should be proud that even now, years later, it is helping us newbies that you were invited along with you on your cruise. Thanks a lot.
