It's a Norwegian Sun. They had it on the local news yesterday as coming in, and will be doing 7 day trips.

Here's the line-up of returning ships from the WWL TV website:

"Next in line at the Port of New Orleans is Carnival Cruise Lines' Fantasy, which sails on Oct. 26, followed by Royal Caribbean International's Grandeur of the Seas on Dec. 7. Carnival is expected to begin sailing it Carnival Triumph next September. All the voyages will be bound to the western Caribbean. "

Thanks, I looked at the reviews for the Norwegian Sun, don't seem as good as Carnival.... The dinning room food seemed to be the problem..... Think I will stick to Carnival & wait for the Triump... (60 mile drive to terminal)....

Cherylroy, I like the way you think. We're 60 miles from the New Orleans port and couldn't stand it and took the Conquest out of Galveston last April. Soon as we heard the Fantasy was returning, booked a 5 dayer out of NO for Mardi Gras week.

I think it looks good sitting there in port

The wife and I are thinking about sailing on Triumph on Sept. 16 2007. I told the wife that I had to go back to Grand Cayman to get me another T-shirt. Mine was faded out looking .

Cherylroy, I'm with you on that idea We're 3 hours from New Orleans Sure makes it easier, don't it .

Happy Sailing;
David

Our daughter drove & dropped us off at New Orleans on a cruise before Katrina... Would like to spend a day in New Orleans after the cruise... Since parking at the Terminal is high, anyone know of a motel or hotel that offers a cruise special with free cruise parking & free shuttle service to the termaniel?? ________

I know there used to be a bunch before the hurricane, but now that the port is regaining its posture, haven't done a searh or anything to see what's offered.

Do a search on like "Sleep cruise New orelans motels" or something and see how many hits you get. good luck

Hi BobM,

This is where we were going to stay in NO:

http://www.maisonstcharles.com/pages/newsletter.html

It was recommended by several people on this site before the hurricane.

Good luck in your search!

Hey Bob, I work in NO and commute there daily. I'll see what kind of arrangements are available in the "city." I'll try to see what hotel/motels are open. I do know that some do offer shuttle to and from the port, and some are a "ways" away from the downtown area. Again, I'll see if I can run down some particulars.
