My family and I will be taking our 1st cruise on the Triumph Jun 07
I will be taking two close friends of my kids (ages 17 and 22) We have approval from Carnival so that they can be on the cabin next to me.
Because of the 2 friends I have to get cabin assigment now and Funds are limited so paying the extr was not an option. We have 3 inside cabin on the Riviera * Deck 1 from looking at the picture it is way at the bottom.
1) Has anyone stay on that deck?
I will call TA to find out how much am I saving with 3 cabin vs. a suite.
Thank you in advance for your reply and for the loads of info on this board. Wow. I've learn so much from the previous posts.
We haven't been on Triumph, but I've read here that many people love the Riviera deck! There's not as much "traffic" and the lower you are the less movement you'll feel.
You don't say how many kids you are taking? There appear to be some inside cabins that sleep four so you may not need three cabins. Be sure to ask you TA about them. Teens usually won't care how crowded they are since they won't be in the cabin very much !
Have a wonderful cruise and if you have any other questions, just ask !

My gosh you are all so wonderful. Thank you for the information and to include the consent form. Thank you so much. I hope to have info I can share one day.
Originally I was going to place all 4 boys in one cabin but for what we are saving it will be worth just being comfortable. I think that since this is our first cruise and I do not know if we will get seasick we will try the lower one first.
I'm so excited I already a suitecase with summer clothes I purchase for the cruise. Boys think I"m crazy but this will be the first time I can afford a vacation for the boys and I.
I stayed on the Riviera deck on the Legend. I took both my kids ages 15 & 20. We had a ball! I didn't experience any seasickness, plus it is closer to the dining area, theatre & disco. Very quiet believe it or not , with the exception of people walking by your cabin or the room stewards, but even those sounds are muffled.
It was just the 3 of us, but this coming year we will be taking the rest of our family & friends. My son who is 20 will be able to get his own cabin with his buddies. But we will all be side by side so I can still kind of keep track of them
The lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) and I are veterans of well over 100 cruises, and more often than not we stay on the Riviera deck. As a matter of fact, we sail on the beautiful Carnival "Miracle" in just seven days, and yep, you guessed it, we are on the Riviera deck. As the others stated, its quieter, you feel less motion, if any at all, it's more convienent to the dining room, (very important!), and it's generally less expensive. How can you go wrong?
Seriously, you are going to have a great cruise. Enjoy!
We are on the Riviera Deck for our cruise on the Miracle
in a couple of weeks time. Cabin number 1119 apparently.
Our TA told us over the phone that we wouldn't find out
our cabin number until we boarded the ship. 10 minutes
later the postman delivered our travel documents. Cabin
number and all. Looks to be in quite a good location.
