My wife wants to confirms that the Liberty has a blowdrying in the cabins? Can someone verify this for sure so we don't have to pack one?

Mr.Bill, I would tell her to pack one. Some cabins have them, and some don't. Some have them and they don't work. If she needs a blow dryer, tell her to take it, for peace of mind.

Thanks Luanne, I knew I could count on you! Are you still on the Conquest? My wife and I leave for the Liberty in less than two weeks for a 16 trans-atlantic cruise. Very, very excited.

Default blow dryer

MrBill,
we were on the liberty in nov.2005 and yes there were dryers in each cabin, but if I was ur wife I would bring one with me and also a power
strip or a three prong converter. u really don't need the converter but
if the safety conductor or whatever it is is at the end of plug it will be very hard to plug in. only one plug in cabin so power strip can come in handy.
we sail on the glory on nov.11 so have a great cruise

They're right,,there are hair dryers in the cabins, but Luanne is right to advise you to take your own. The dryers have a "safety switch" which requires you to hold the switch in the on position (if it works at all) which makes it very difficult to use. Take your own, and avoid the hassle of the ones aboard.
Have a great cruise.

Thanks very much Luanne, Ken and Mikee. I'll advise the wife to bring her own. I'll probably be the one who will have to carry it in my own suitcase.

Mr. Bill, you can get a much smaller "travel" hair dryer, which has plenty of power, but takes up about one third as much space. That's what we have, and it works just fine.
Have a great cruise!

Ditto on the travel blowdryer. I have one I use just for travels. It's much, much smaller but as powerful as my larger one. The travel one I have is a Sunbeam 1600.

The dryers I've seen on the ships aren't very powerful.

I second the recommendation to take your own. I always do. I end up using the one in the room (I have actually gotten that button thing down pat) because I have very long hair. But I always like to have mine for a back up just in case (heaven forbid) the one in the room won't work.

Have a marvelous cruise!!!

I was on the Liberty in April. Yes, there is hairdryers, but if you have long hair it will take awhile to get it all dry. The extra hairdryer is a great idea!

If your wife has long, thick hair you may want to look into the Sharper Image 1875 travel dryer. It folds up and has it's own carry pouch. I find it one of my best travel item purchases yet.
