My wife & I have decided on the Carnival Glory for March 2007 and will be taking our then 8month old Son.
We would like to try an AFT cabin this time around. The following are currently available....looking for opinions.....especially from those that have stayed in any of these rooms. Let me know what you would select if you were in my shoes!
empress - 7439 or 7447 = around $1,000/per person
upper - 6483 or 6452 = around $1,300/per person
veranda - 8442 = around $1,300/per person
I have stayed on empress , cabin #7448. I purposely chose that deck and cabin because--- if you stay on veranda deck, you will be dircetly under
the aft pool/ bar/ grille/pizza area. That may or may not be a problem for you, but personally I would not want veranda deck in that area.
If you go down to upper deck, you will be over the aft show lounge where the midnight comedy show, etc are held. Again, personally I would not book that area, but it may not bother you. Of the cabins you listed, I would go with empress 7447. You are between 2 passenger decks and pretty much insulated from the noise. Too, you will be able to set back with your feet propped up and look directly out at the long beautiful wake as the ship sails along.
I stayed on the Upper deck on Glory '05 and it was a great room, balcony, w/ our 8 month old and had a blast! Just don't bring the big honkin' travel system stroller! It didn't fit through the cabin doorway. We learned from that mistake! It's a great boat, we're on the Upper deck again in Jan. '07
