Default Carnival Glory 10-28 through 11-4 review

Well everyone my wife and I are back from not only our first cruise but the honeymoon cruise too. We book a garenteed balcony and ended up on deck 8 the Veronda deck in stateroom 8455 which is the rear balcony with a wrap around deck. This room was HUGE, and the deck was huge too. Once on board we ate up on Lido deck, and then went and found our cabin. Our cabin steward had our room all ready for us, and even put our luggage in our cabin since it arrived before we found the room. Our dining reservation got screwed up from the reservation, we booked the early seating, but were placed on the late seating. The Maitr'e D moved us from the Golden dining room into the Platnim dining room with the early seating. Our first stop was in Nasau, Bahamas and we did a glass bottom boat tour, our guide was hiliarious and I thought was more entertaining then looking at the white and yellow snapper swimming below us. He even pointed out some celeberty homes, such as Oprah and the hospital were Anna Nicole Smith is staying at. Once back on board the Glory, we headed down to St. Thomas. St. Thomas was an adventure in itself. We booked ourselves a shopping and beach adventure tour, while driving to the downtown shopping area we were in a car accident. The driver did not even notice too! We decided to ditch the tour and just keep shopping and take our own taxi back to the ship because it was very hot that day and we did not feel like sitting on a beach for 2 hours, plus a driver who does not even notice car accidents kind of made us worry a little about our own safety on the roads. Next stop was in St. Maartin and we were doing our own thing. Did lots of shopping and just hung out most of the day in port. That night was a slot tournament in the casino and my wife won that, so her extra $500 helped pay off our room bill. All those drinks start to add up after a week of handing the bar waitress your card and signing your life away. We had two days at sea coming back to Port Canaveral after St. Maartin, the first day was fine, but by mid friday afternoon the seas were getting pretty rough and by night time we were going through what the captain said was rough seas. My wife eneded up getting sea sick, but I enjoyed the extra rocking as it put me right to sleep for my last night on the ship. Getting off the ship was a breeze, we went and hung out in the Amber Palace theature and were off the ship by 8:30 am. If anyone has questions let me know, I will be happy to go into more details on anything you want to know about. I should have pictures up here in a day or two.

Welcome home, AlaskanGrown! Sounds like you had a great cruise. Quite an adventure in St. Thomas. If the tour was booked through Carnival, you should let them know how reckless the driver was. BTW, congratulations to you and your new bride on your marriage. Winning the slots tournament is always a nice bonus!

To cure those post cruise blues, you might as well start planning your next trip! 8)

Congrats on the wedding and honeymoon cruise. That's no easy feat bein upgraded into one of those corner balcony suites. Those things are booked generations in advance. Sorry to here bout the new wife becoming sea-sick, that's one drawback to the cabin you were in. The further up and the further fore or aft of midship, the more she rocks. But hey, if yah ever get another cormer cabin, I'd be happy to take it off yer hands.

the next cruise planning is already happening in my head, and here in another week the real planning will start. My wifes mom is going on her first cruise with Princess cruiselines courtesy of her casino hosts and other "high rollers" from Vegas leaving this Saturday and if she likes it, the plan is for us to cruise with her mom and her two younger sisters all together in the future. Even without them, my wife and I are looking at the 8 day Mexican Riveria cruise out of Long Beach, CA.

Yes our tour was booked though carnival, and we spoke with the tour desk asst. manager and she said she would notate the complaint and forward it to her manager, that night we got a letter from the tour desk manager telling us that it was out of carivals hands since it was a tour operater problem not carnivals. We went back to the tour desk and were told they would not refund the tour since we were the only ones to complain and even bring up the car accident that the tour operator is denying of coarse, so they told us to contact Canival Corporate in Miami when we get home. Reguardless I dont see my wife and I doing any more excursions as we found ourselves enjoying ourselves more on our own and not tied to a time schedule of being at the right place at the right time.

Default How about them seas

Hans-

Sorry we didn't get together during the cruise. If you saw "Sherlock Holmes"
during the halloween parade, you saw me. The ship was really rolling that last day, wasn't it?? My wife said her cruise last October when they were chased by Wilma, Alpha and Beta was like that every day.
