Default What's your favorite Rum Cake?

Not to be missed....get a rum cake in Grand Cayman! Delicious!!! My favorite is the chocolate. We made the mistake of opening one when we returned to the ship. I think it was gone before the island was out of sight!

Yup, the orignal hands down! We bought the sampler package in GC and the store had it sent direct to our cabin so we didn't have to carry it around the island. But that didn't stop me from samplin every single flavor at every single other store on the strip. I love Tortuga Rum cake

They also last forever. Our cruise was in July, and we just finished the last one several weeks ago. It was as if it had just been baked.

The original was good, but the chocolate was sinful! I will be sure to try banana and pineapple this time around. Need the website to order online.

Rum Cake of the Month, it could work. Yes I think the AA club for rum cake addicts would be Weight Watchers!

Wow, Thanks!

Opinion..... Do you think these would be suitable to ship overseas to our military?

Nevermind.. I think the thought process finally passed those blonde roots. The answer is probably NO because of the rum! duh!

I don't think the rum is a problem. I gave the rum cake to kids, didn't seem to bother them. Just get the cake home, pack it in your big box of goodies and mail it.

Shoot, I knew I wasn't supposed to, but I did send my boy a little Crown Royal (for bartering purposes his excuse, not mine!) in a Listerine bottle....a well washed Listerine bottle.

My favorite rum cake is the one I make myself:

I've never been "impressed" by the rum cakes onboard or in the shops!

Thanks.

The Tortuga Rum Cakes now come in Key Lime and Orange flavors. There's also a key lime rum cake from Key West, called Blonde Giraffe, that you can probably order online...

A co-worker just brought me the Tortuga catalog! Rum cakes include: original golden with walnuts, chocolate, coconut, blue mountain coffee, banana, key lime, pineapple, cinnamon raisin, Florida coconut rum, Florida orange rum and Florida key lime rum. Cost for all (except Florida cakes) is $32.50 for 33 oz. and $148.50 for nine 16 oz. cakes (you hafta order nine of the 16 oz.). The Florida cakes are $25.00 for a 16 oz. cake with a minimum order of one!

They also have flavored rum fudge, truffles and rum balls. Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee, tortuga wildflower honey, tortuga citrus honey, tortuga conch chowder, tortuga pure vanilla and essence of vanilla, cookbook and other gifts! Go to their website....it's awesome.
