Default Cozumel Recommendations?

I checked the weather and it could be raining when we are in Cozumel? Any recommendations for a rainy day?

There's always Carlos-n-Charlie's! But beware, many a passenger have missed their boat hangin round there too long. I wouldn't worry bout the weather prediction, if it rains, it won't rain long. If the ferry is operating between Coz and the mainland, there's some gorgeous beach there in Playa del Carmen. I'm really not sure what was affected by the hurricanes, so a more recent visiter could probably help yah better. Cozumel is always a great stop.

Thanks. I agree, I love Cozumel. We had planned on a day at Paradise Beach, but may have to go to Plan B! 8) We will have umbrellas, just in case, but I doubt that the rain will slow us down too much!

You could do the city tour. Most of it is on a bus. A little shopping, a little eating.

The tour stops at Pancho's Backyard. Be sure to eat there. You can get coupons on line, and they are famous for their Mango Margaritas. It is also a good place to buy goodies.

It rained on us off and on when we were in Cozumel in August. It was a warm rain and didn't slow us down at all. It was absolutely pouring when we were having breakfast in the Lido, we got off the ship at about 10:00 and it wasn't raining, we took a taxi to Paradise Beach and just as we got there we heard some seriously loud thunder and it started raining again. We were cracking up, standing under umbrellas putting on sunscreen! The rain continued off and on most of the morning, but we swam anyway, it was cool sitting on the water tramp with the rain coming down (by that time it was just sprinkling). It cleared up by late morning and we were even able to rent wave-runners. It was a great day with more than enough sun in between the showers. I say go for whatever you want to do. If it's really pouring they might not have the parasailing or waverunners operating, but the weather can change really quickly in the tropics, so you never know. Have a great trip!

I'm guessing our first choice will be the beach, but thanks for the reminder about Pancho's Backyard, Luanne! We ate there once before, but didn't realize there was a coupon! (now in hand!)

YEEEAAA!

If you decide to go to the beach, go back on line for coupons. They are competing with each other these days, and WANT YOU!!

The horse trip is fun also.

I just got back yesterday from the Conquest, we played Mini-golf, went to the pharmacy to buy drugs and stopped at Cafe Denis (2x1).

If you don't have insurance that covers drugs, Cozumel is a great place to buy. You don't need a prescription for most of them.

This recommendation makes me smile. I love to ride horses, although I haven't riden often, but my DH was thrown the last time he was on a horse and simply refuses to get on another one. As he says "I'm scared of them, and they know it!"

The last time I rode was in the mountains in Colorado. My DS and I took a ride -- it was the first time for him! Very fun!

A couple of years ago, we had barely settled in at Paradise Beach when it started raining hard. We simply moved into their open air/covered bar/restaurant and had a wonderful time. Still a great way to spend a few hours in Paradise!
