Hi everyone. First time poster here. I am sailing on the Carnival Pride in February and the boat is set to arrive in Long Beach at 9AM according to the itinerary. I want to book a flight leaving the Long Beach airport at 11:20AM. Is that too early? Is the ship usually on time? early? late? How hard is it to get a taxi from the ship? How long does it take to go from the ship terminal to the Long Beach airport? I'd much rather take the 11:20 flight because the next one after that is at 4PM. Am I cutting it close? Thanks!!!
If the ship does indeed tie-up at 0900, there is no way to make a 1120 flight.
If they start the disembarkation at 0900, you might make it; but it is going to be real tight. Do the self-debarkation abd that will save some time.

I was on the Oct 29th sailing of the Pride and we were docked long before 9am. I was through LAX secruity at 11:30... but you might be cutting it very close if the ship gets held up for any reason... customs, rough seas.. etc...

We are flying out of the Long Beach airport and NOT LAX though. I'm guessing the Long Beach airport can't be more than a 10 minute drive from the dock, right?

The LB Cruise Terminal is 12 miles from Long Beach Airport; travel time is approximately 20 minutes depending on traffic.

I know you're flying out of Long Beach, BUT the pride has been late coming in more than once for a number of reasons. We had to take a longer route back due to rough seas. Ships get held up for debarkation due to customs issues. They don't clear the ship as quickly as they used to and if you miss your flight out of LGB you might have a harder time getting another one!

OK, I'm starting to have 2nd thoughts again and I'm really wanting to book the 11:20AM flight out of Long Beach. Is there any way to find a historical record of actual return times for past Carnival Pride cruises? Thanks....

Then just book it and be done with it.
Good Luck.

This is just my opinion, FWIW, but if it were me I'd book the 3 PM flight. If you get to the airport way before the 11:20 flight maybe you could try to get standby on the earlier flight?
If the ship is scheduled to dock at 9 AM you still have to wait until it's cleared to disembark (even with self-debarkation). That could take an hour or so. Then you have to go through customs and immigration and find a taxi to the airport (and collect your luggage if not doing the self-debarkation).
IMO, you're pushing it. Why get off a wonderful, relaxing cruise and then have to stress to get on the plane ?
Have a wonderful cruise!
