Hi, my husband and I will be taking our first cruise in April. We are taking our 3 sons with us, two of which are old enough (and already quite eager) to attend Camp Carnival. Is it acceptable to tip the counselors at the end of the week? If so, what is customary? All other tipping is pretty much cut and dry. I think the people who are helping my children to have a great experience should also receive a thank you for good service.
Also, we have an OV guarantee. Should I contact Carnival to request a crib in our room now, or do they automatically provide that simply based upon the age of the baby on the reservation? Does Victory provide refrigerators in the cabins? If not, can I possibly request one since we do have an infant who needs to eat at all hours? I may no longer be nursing him at that time, I would need to keep his formula fresh.
We generally tip the kid counselors $20 per kid. At least on Princess, the counselors are not on the pooled tips. We've found them all to be awesome with the kids, and the kids will go to the kids center as often (and for as long) as we let them.
Thanks so much for your responses. It only seems logical to tip them, but I couldn't find info anywhere. The search function wasn't working earlier when I originally posted this. It is now, and there was actually already a long thread on this topic. I appreciate your feedback and apologize for the somewhat double post.
