Default New Years!

We will be sailing this New years on Carnival Valor. This questions is for all those who have traveled during the New Years. What are the speical celebrations they have on the ship? We are going in a group and most have never crusied before. They keep asking me if it is a foraml event, if they have a huge bash, etc...
Thanks

I was on the Elation this past New Years. They had a big party on the Lido deck. They had a sign that was lit up with "2006" on it, and it changed to "2007" at midnight. They had a great band that was playing music. A projector that of all things was projecting CNN's New Year broadcast, and lots of Champagne. They passed out the Champagne about 30 minutes before midnight. It was a lot of fun. We had a great time. The only thing that sucked was it was the last night of our cruise.
