Awesome list, but instead of the duffle bag for dirty laundry, I use of those pop up hampers, they take up no room in your luggage, you do not have to carry it separatly and it airs out your dirty laundry, so the suitcase they sit in for a week, does not smell.

Jeez, if I packed all of that I would need 3 suitcases instead of the one I used last time. I did take the power strip, never used it, I took the alarm clock, never used it. I took several things that were suggested, but never used them. Do you really use all of those things?

If I had packed all of it, my husband probably would have left the suitcase on the floor like he did last time. Since this is a group cruise, I'm probably going to assign items to certain people. However, I think I can fit all of that in a carryon bag.....any takers?

I'll post pics after I'm done.

Martha,
It's a suggested packing list...you don't have to pack all of it, just what you think you might need....but I might NEED it! Anyway I edited the list to show what I didn't pack on my last cruise....and I edited this post to reflect my original thoughts. The first post didn't read like I wanted and it seemed like I slammed Ms. Blackjack.........So sorry!

mstill: you didn't slam me- or offend me in any way, I was trying to be humorous; just was saying lighten up and enjoy the vacation because the most important thing to take is yourself.... besides I got very thick skin - as you know, I am a member of the HOney I'm Home group thread and ya know you gotta have thick skin for that......

so here's to you and happy packing.....

You pack exactly like me. When I didn't take those items I ended up needing them so I end up packing all the little things I might need and my list looks just like yours so your not alone in taking it all.

I even pack enough detergent for the week and quarters so I can wash on the sea day before coming home - come home to clean clothes. You can bring it - and dont' worry about bringing the bottle back (not big bottle).

Just curious (and smiling!) - why "vinegar" listed under medication? What do you use it for?

I've been told it's great for jellyfish stings, sunburn and some people actually put it on their french fries (I'm not sure what that is about...we use ketchup).

Friskie Fries are great w/vinegar. Perhaps the Vinegar is to wash your oceanview window
It is great for getting chlorine and saltwater out of your hair

Friskie fries???? Help, what are friskie fries? I live in Louisiana and we will eat just about anything down here, so please tell, we might need to make some! I guess we need to include that new book on the packing list....1000 uses for vinegar!

That reminds me of my friend from Michigan who came to visit! First of all she arrived on a sultry August night......totally unprepared for a nice summer day in Louisiana! I thought she would die each time she walked outside. I made jambalaya for dinner. She looked in the pot and said...I don't think I can eat that! I shrugged, said okay...there's the frig. She saw the grandchildren eating the jambalaya and figured if kids ate it, it might be worth a try. She loved it. The same thing happened at every meal. She now likes gumbo, sauce picante (I didn't have the heart to tell her it was alligator! Told her it was chicken!), grillades and grits, etouffee, crawfish bisque, etc. The hardest thing for her was boiled crawfish. She hated getting her hands messy and couldn't believe we ate off of newspaper. Never could get her to suck the heads! She has since moved back to the frozen Nawth and I miss her so much!

As a Florida native, I can tell you first hand that the one thing that treats jellyfish stings immediately (and better than vinegar) is urine! Don't know how it would be on frisky fries...

Okay Buffetfan..........I've added your stuff to the list!

Pretty soon, I'll need another cabin for my junk!

As far as the clothes question from another cruisemate....I'm assuming the little critters will remember to pack clothing...I tried to remind them at the top of the list, but who knows!

Default thanks for updated list..

Melody-
I didn't put this item on list, but thought you'd enjoy the laugh-- I brought a bottle of Hershey's syrup for ice cream! A girl needs her chocolate.

Suzy,

I knew what kind of fan you were! And yes, chocolate is a great idea! On our last cruise I missed the midnight chocolate buffet and I could just throw a fit about it, but it wouldn't help! I wonder if they still have those? HMMMM?

Default Choc buffet is a lunch theme - usually last day

On our last two cruises the lunch theme of the day was noted carnival Capers, usually last day was chocolate.
fondue- fruit, cake, marshmallows, bon bons etc. very rich but delightful.

For us the night before was Grand Gala Buffet also (not choc theme though)
p.s. glad you knew my screen name so many think eating buffet since it is on a cruise board. Maybe I should change avatar by name to a parrot or something.

I'm not a flamer. I am going to cut and paste this right next to Michelle's list.

On most trips I usually throw together a suitcase a hour before I go.
