Aft vs. side balcony on Conquest

We are trying to decide which is better on Carnival Conquest, an aft or side balcony. What are the pros and cons of each. Do the aft balconies have shade are they less private? Are the side balconies windy? Is there a size difference?

Hi Brittany. I was just going to ask the same question and noticed your posting. We are looking to finally book our first ever balcony room and I have no idea whether to get an aft room or side room as well. Hope someone can give us some help and comments on this. Thanks.

The aft balconies are deeper, so larger. And the view of where you've been (both sides) is great.

The deck 6 balcnies are covered, and as you go up, 7 and 8 are more exposed to above.

I have had both side and aft, and now I always book in advance to have the aft, as the views are awesome, not only when you pull out of ports, but just to watch the world go by.
