Default Have you called Bon Voyage Dept. after receiving a letter?

After my cruise on Liberty in 11/05 I wrote a letter to Carnival. I received a reply telling me to call Bon Voyage 45 days prior to my next cruise for a special gift.

Has anyone received this offer, and if so, what can/did you select or receive? Baskets? Bar credits? Bottles of booze?

Thanks in advance...

Yes, We have called and usually ask for the photo coupons. They will offer you wine, champagne, etc. On our last cruise, she asked if we wanted bar coupons or wine and I asked for the photo coupons. We got them at dinner the first night on board. They bring them to your table.

Can you get bottles of liquor for your cabin? Any limit in amount? I'd like to "preshop" before I call in a few days...

We did this a couple of cruises ago and were greeted with a fruit basket in our cabin when we arrived. Not a big deal, but certainly a nice touch and much appreciated.

Is this reserved for returning passengers?

Thanks

Katie, it is reserved for complaining passengers! I think you have to write to them following your cruise - good or bad - and you will hear from them, possibly with an offer for a gift during your next cruise.

I wrote regarding a problem in Grand Cayman and their lack of crowd control (we had to tender in from the opposite side of the island due to tropical storm and it was a nightmare - stood in line for 2.5 hours waiting to get back to the ship with literally hundreds of people - some fainting!)

They responded with a nice letter saying not much and a free gift - I have to call 45 days before my cruise (scheduled in March) to set something up.

I've made a point of writing Carnival on each of my five cruises with them telling of the splendid experiences we had. So far, nothing in the way of offers has come this way, so it must be for the cronic complainers. I'll probably tell them again, in a month of the great time we're gong to have on the Fantasy. I don't expect anything, but like to give compliments, when their services meet or exceed my expectations.

Sure, I could find a nit-pick from time to time, but our rating is based on the whole cruise experience. I like to have fun, and wished I had started cruising earlier.

The wife and I have had 2 of those letters. There was no complaining on our part I assure you. On all of our cruises, we have had nothing but great service, and wonderful cruises.
On your comment cards that you fill out before you disembark,(or from contacting Carnival,) I praised a few waiters (by Name )and my stewardess,(by Name ) for exceptional service, for that week of our cruise.
A few weeks later, we recieved a letter from Carnival. I'm sure its probadly used in customer relations in a number of ways. But for us, it was for a job well done Why they chose us Don't know But I thanked them anyway.
Honeywell, Call Carnival and he or she will give you some options to choose from. We've done the chocolate covered strawberries,& drink coupons. Enjoy

Happy Sailing to all;
David

"Chronic complainers", "Complaining Passengers"? Sounds to me like some childish "how come ge got one but I didn't"? whining going on.

Rest assured all my letters were complimentary and not complaints. Too many people are too quick to gripe when something goes wrong, but don't take the time to say thanks and job well done when things go well.
