Default Carnival Destiny Sailing October 28th from San Juan...

I am thinking of going on the Carnival Destiny on October 28th. Can anyone tell me about their experience? The ports St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados, and Antigua? Does anyone know of any decent hotels near the port in San Juan, we want to go up there a day early. Also how did you like the kids programs? My sons 4th birthday is on halloween and we want to make sure he will have just as much fun on a cruise vacation for his birthday as my daughter did when we took her on a cruise for her 3rd birthday 4 years ago.

Thanks for you help

Jen

If you go to the review part of this website, you will be able to get most of your questions answered. There is even a review of the Destiny from me

The Sheraton Old San Juan is right across the street from the cruise ship terminal. Hotel Milano is less than a mile away. We loved the Southern itinerary so much we're going again this year. I did a review of what we did last year. Its on this site under Ship Review, Member Reviews, Carnival, Destiny. It will be under Darcy or Darcy Lowe.

A group of us did this same cruise in Oct 06, and had an absolute blast. Halloween was super fun < I got picked to be in the costume contest even!> and the whole week had more of a celebratory/party atmosphere than other cruises we were one. The ports are all very diverse, and you will have no problem finding something fun and interesting to do in each port, although we were in Aruba, so our cruise differed slightly. You will have a blast if you go with an open mind expecting to have FUN and don't take yourself or the other cruisers too seriously...just cut loose and relax!

Thats a really great way to think about it. I have been a little nervous about booking this cruise after some stories I heard about Carnival but I figure I can have a bad time anywhere so why not go intent on having a good time and see what happens
