addad a room- lost my insurance ???????????????

I booked the Valor for 2/25 last March ., and paid for trip insurance for three. Yesterday I booked another room for my daughter, so I was able to have my 3rd person in my room, transfer to her room , and as a result I was told that automatically cancelled his trip insurance I would have to re buy it, as it is non refundable, I refuse to pay for this again, does this seem fair

Oh Gail,

I was stumped until you mentioned Sea Miles. There is a growing number of people across the cruise boards, who are unhappy with SM. It has a lot to do with their business practices.

Technically your son's reservation was canceled and rebooked and therefore lost the insurance. He may have re-booked into another room but nevertheless the original booking was canceled.

Is this fair? Heck no. However it's how their rules are written.

Another reason not to purchase Cruise Line Insurance. Cruise Line insurance protects the cruise line as much as it protects you; Or more.

You can try appealing to a higher power at Carnival and have the insurance reinstated. Explain your situation and that you have already paid but remember that the insurance policy is underwritten by a third party and not Carnival. It may actually be out of Carnival's hands at this time.
