I'm a first-time cruiser due to leave for Cozumel March 29 on the Fantasy. Does anyone have any information about Cozumel Shore Excursions and the All-Inclusive Resort Day Pass or should I stick to booking through Carnival?
Either booking yourself, or with Carnival is up to you, but Cozumel is the easiest port to book on your own. I have not tried the company you asked about, but have used Dolphin Discovery, and Cozumelinsider. Both are very good. I don't think I would do a day pass, because there are so many good beaches, that are affordable.
Actually you have to pass the Park to get to Paradise Beach.
They are very close together. I would estimate less than $5 for a taxi for 4 people to go from CP to PB. They built a beach service road to use while the main road was being repaired from Wilma that stretches from CP to PB. You turn off the main road there at CP and get on the service road further south to PB. It is a beautiful drive. I hope they keep that road once the repairs on the main road are done.
We were there in December and are headed back next month (for the upmteenth time~~ I love Cozumel)
To the OP: this is definately a port you can do on your own. A taxi from the Port will cost you $12-15 one way for 4 people to most of the beach clubs.
If you want an all inclusive ths:
Playa Mia (lots of people~~more active and party and kids)
It has an entrance fee and it does offer an all inclusive that you can purchase at the gate.
Paradise Beach ( active but not over the top - usually more families) It does NOT have an entrance fee...but they do expect you to eat/drink $10 per person. You can purchase an OPTIONAL wristband for those folks in your party that want to use the non motorized toys.
San Francisco Beach - No entrance fee and offers an all inclusive. A mixture of singles and families.
Reef Club offers a $40.00 per person all inclusive. (They have a Kids Club of some description)
Nachi Cocom is the most expensive all inclusive but they limit the number of cruisers they sell to AND it is 90% adults. Their regular all inclusive package is $69.00 but you can get a special sometimes for $49.00. It is a more quiet laid back environment from what I have read, with things like a swim up bar.
There is also Playa Uvas. More adult but I don't have the particulars on it.
