well David from Gastonia that is a loaded question; do you mean parking in Tampa in general or at the port.

re: the port: parking info: After dropping luggage at the terminal, parking is on left. Port Authority Garage Parking ($10 per day, with rates subject to change) is under cover, with payment due upon arrival in U.S. dollars or with Visa, MasterCard, or American Express.

Also if you are flying in TPA; there are shuttles for about $10 per person.

re: downtown Tampa parking: Good Luck!

I have yet to park at the port; was up there a while back; it is a little bit of a walk so drop your luggage at the terminal first. then you just take the next left. http://www.tampaport.com - is their official website and I just noticed that parking has increased to $12.00 per day.

David,
If you are driving in the day prior, you can find a hotel close to port that offers free parking while cruising and shuttle to and from port.

I live in Orlando and will still probably drive in on Friday night and use this option. I just prefer to be in the port city when I wake up on cruise day. Eliminates a lot of unforseen traffic or flight delays.

Parking has gone up to $12/day.

Jodi

David, I just returned from a 10 day cruise out of Tampa. It's easy to get in and out.
There is a multi-story garage across from the dock area. Drop the luggage and passengers off, then drive back around to the garage. It's $12. per day, payable up front with cash or credit card. When we disembarked the ship, I had a porter to take my bags across the street for me to the second floor of the garage--gave him a very nice tip and we were in the car on the way by 8:50 a.m.
The police do a good job of handling the traffic around the terminal.
Have cruised from Tampa 3 times and it is my 2nd favorite, behind Port Canaveral as far as being easy to get in and get out.
You won't have any problem.
