Default Newbie here!!!!! Cozumel excursion question!

Hi! My family and I will be sailing on Carnival Holiday in May and I'm researching the excursion options! I definitely want to take my DD to swim with the dolphins at Chankanaab Park but my DH will have my 2 year old DS....What can they do while we swim with the dolphins? Is there a beach nearby?

Also, is there an all-inclusive beach we can go to without going through carnival (lunch, drinks, ect.)?

Thanks for your time, Brooke

The last time we were in Cozumel, we rented a jeep and traveled all around the island; made a complete circle by the time we were done. We did not stop at Chankanaab Park, but drove right past it. Our lunch stop was at one of the many beaches; this one was not real crowded and we had excellent fajitas there for lunch. I do not know if there is a beach in the park itself, but there are beaches all around and you could easily do both on your own without having to book anything through Carnival.

There are beaches in the park, bring water shoes. Also beaches everywhere! Can take a taxi anywhere, just hang on, they don't drive slow and they don't use the brakes!

Chankanaab Park is a lovely place to hang out.

As I recall, while you are with the Dophins, they can watch this encounter, if they like.

We visited Cozumel last October and spent part of a day at Chankanaab Park (a favorite of ours). They were still recovering from Hurricane Wilma from the year before....but I think the lagoon and "Mayan Ruins" were still there (I don't know because we didn't bother looking -- we were busy snorkeling). I put "Mayan Ruins" in quotation marks, because they are replicas....but it makes for an interesting stroll (if they're still there)

Chankanaab is not very far (just a little north) from Paradise Beach, which also has a nice beach area that your little one might enjoy with Daddy.

Brooke, you and your family can spend a family day at Channunkaab Park. There is a nice beach with clean facilities, you can get food there, there is a little gift shop, botancial gardens, small aquarium, replica of the ruins. Its just a short taxi ride from the pier. Book your dolphin swim now. You can do it independantely if you wish you don't need to book a ships excursion. Go to www.dolphindiscovery.com for great information.
