Default Money & Credit Cards

Where do you put your money and credit cards when you are places like the beach so that it is secure and safe?

in my limited experience i have bought i little waterproof thingy on a string to put around my neck...or to your wrist
it screws together and you put your money in it

for my credit card..i usually just slip it in the pocket of my bathing trunks...and snap it shut...never seemed to have hurt the card any

good luck and have fun

mike

Default waterproof fanny back

I bought a waterproof waist-thing that closes aroudn the waiste and keeps everything in it dry - i.e. wallet, etc. but that's just for wading, not for serious swimming. I recommend the around the neck thingy (which I also have 2 of) and will also be looking for a water proof thing to hang aorund my neck to hold my room key/card and credit cards/ids. I would never leave anything in the room safe.

What do you guys think about this? It comes with the neck, waist, and wrist attachment. Do you think this will work? I'm so afraid of losing all my money in the water.

Yikes ! That is very expensive! You can buy a waterproof case on the ship for about $5.00 (if I remember correctly). It's small plastic box with a rubber seal. It hangs around your neck on a cord.

I'm trying to find a picture and will post when I do !

We bought two otterboxes $11.00 a piece . We have used them on both of our cruises and, also go to the ocean every year . They hold money and drivers licence and credit cards (100.00%) go to Otterbox.com Will be using them again when we go on the Glory in April

Called "dry boxes" you can purchase these handy little things at dive shops (or online, I guess)....

Like our American Express card, hubby and I don't leave home (for the Carribbean) without it!

I usually leave items locked in a locker. My brother used one of those "waterproof" item before and had his car key fob in it. It leaked and the fob got wet. It would not unlock his vehicle, which had MY car keys in it.

Lockers seem so easy to break into. People probably know that tourists use them a lot too. I just remember in high school lockers got broken into every day and it took less than a second to get into them.

for the beach, I'd say have one adult in your family be the designated "dry person" then switch off so everyone who wants to get wet can get wet. Best way to play it safe. never trust lockers. never trust room safe. use the best secure dry item holder you can find.

What terri09 posted is pretty close to what you'll find in the ship's stores.

Thanks for the pic, terri09!

Yes, mstill, if you hang them around your neck they will float!

(BTW, CM staff... What happened to the CM's cruise shop?)

$31 is a lot for that thing.. A rip off if you ask me. What I have done in the past is not cared if the money or card got wet.... water damaging plastic and they no one ever didn't take my wet american dollar.. lol

On the beach we usually hooked up with another couple and while we were in the water they were at the towels..
