carlp,
I can't help you with the Carnival discount website, however, I'd be interested in the RC one!

i booked my carnival cruises thru cruisevaluecenter.com. go there and pick your cruise and find your fare then instead of booking online, call the 800 number to book. the prices over the phone are always cheaper than the on line fare.

As a past guest, I get specials, via e-mail, from Carnival all the time.

Default Fun Fax Discount Site

I read somewhere on another thread was a discount site that lists all the discounts that carnival TA's can give out. It also lists the wednesday specials and different promotions.

When I booked marked it in my web browser at work it was listed as fun fax. Please tell me someone knows the site so I can get back to it?? Thanks! Carla

Carnival's strict policy is that NO agent or agency can advertise any cruise or cabin for less than Carnival is selling it. This does not apply to "Group Bookings."

In order to receive ANY discount a person must directly contact an agent or agency. This policy has been in effect for almost a year.

Royal Caribbean is even more strict. No agent can sell a cruise for less than Royal Caribbean is selling the cruise for. This means no discounting for commissions.

All decent agents can offer you the "Tuesday" specials.

Here is a link to an article that explains current pricing policies for cruise lines.

Take care,
Mike

I just got an email telling me that this Thursday Carnival is offering a one day 35 year anniversary sale.

Is there a posibility that I can get a better rate then I am currently booked for if I call on Thursday or will they tell me new bookings only?

Thanks.

Brian

Brian:
It is possible, if your cruise is outside of the cancellation period. You may lose the cabin or category you have booked. Most "offers" are for new bookings only. This means that you must cancel you existing booking and re-book in order to take advantage of the new offer. If you are inside of the cancellation period you cannot take advantage of the new offer. You could but the cancellation penalty would offset almost any savings.

You can always call your TA and see if there is anything they can do for you in the way of on board credit, wine, transfer, tote bag, etc., if they can't get the offer and many times they can't, but it never hurts to ask. If they can't get you the offer they can give you the reason why they can't.

Take care,
Mike

I think Carnival has had a ONE DAY ONLY sale about every week for the past 2 years

Granted they vary the cruises they put on sale each time... sort of, but I'm truly getting tired of their ONE day sales pitch

Maybe I looked in the wrong place on the cruise line's web site, but with both Carnival and RCI I have booked cruises for less than shown on their sites. One time the cruise line showed the ship fully booked and yet I found an available cabin through an independent travel site.

Default Cruise Values :)

just my opinion and yes there have only been two cruise for me. I have found the best price thru cruisevaluecenters.com ALex Shusterman, his email is tolycarter@aol.com

I am talking for two years they have saved me over 4300 and they give either free insurance OR free wine/champagne as a welcoming gift in the room. Believe me I have had tons of STUPID questions and he always answers them.
