I have thought about having a gift waiting in our friends room when they board. Has anybody done this through Carnival and is it worth the price?
Thanks for your help!
We took DH's sister/husband and brother/wife couples on their first cruise a couple of years ago. They were both celebrating wedding anniversaries (20 and 25 years respectively). We ordered fruit baskets to have in their cabins when they boarded. The timing could not have been better as their cabin steward delivered the baskets to them personally while they were first getting into their cabins. They were absolutely delighted which made us feel good. What we will do differently if we ever do that again is to choose something other than fruit baskets (for the price we thought we would get a lot of bang for the buck as the baskets were generously put together) but what we did NOT realize was that they would not be able to take the fruit with them when we debarked the ship It never occured to us that the fruit could not go through customs back into the US, so what they did not eat was left in the cabin. Believe me, there was a lot of fruit along with some nuts and a couple of hard candies all in a really, really nice basket with a bow and gift card with our greeting neatly typed on it. Next time though, we will do something different, but the idea went over really well and is a very thoughtful, nice touch.
Happy sailing to one and all!

Our Travel Agent actually sent us a "gift" each of the first three days. Day one was a bottle of wine, day two was the chocolate covered strawberries and day three was a cake.
We really thought it was a great touch on her part.
