Default Should I transfer to TA

I have our Oct. cruise booked through Carnival. A guarantee balcony. Would it be best if I transferred this booking to a TA? My PVP assures me that he will get me in a good cabin, above the Upper deck. I don't know how many clients he handles at one time so I don't know if he really is "on the lookout" for price reductions or the best cabin. Would a TA have more time to do the research. I don't want to upset my Carnival guy because I will more than likely book through him again one of these days. I feel like we were given a very good price for this cruise just from what research I did checking out some of the other sites to book cruises. What would everyone suggest?

IMO

I'd say stay with the PVP at Carnival with the understanding that you will be the one checking for price drops. If you see a price drop, call him/her immediately! Shouldn't be a problem with just one or two cabins booked.

I agree with mstill! Just be sure to check the prices yourself, and if you see that it drops call your PVP.

While we LOVE our TA, we don't depend on her to research prices every day . Same thing with a PVP. They really don't have the time to check prices every day !

I would do the research myself and stick with the Carnival PVP. I still check around, but I get better deals with my PVP and I know she has done things for me that a TA wouldn't - or couldn't do. My family has booked several times through our PVP and have never had a problem. But that is what I would do. It is your vacation, so do what makes you feel the most comfortable. Have a great cruise!

My PVP told me it was fine to transfer..he'd still get credit for the booking. We did that on one of our cruises when we saw one of the online agencies was offering a "double discount" for transferring your booking to them. We saved an extra $100 doing that. I also check the prices online every day and call right away if I see a price drop.
