Default Galveston~ Take liquor off ship?

I have never used Galveston's port. I was told that you could not disembark w/liquor purchased at other ports or from shop onboard ship ... is this true??? Are Texas laws different or something? I had no problems w/liquor purchased in Jamaica, etc., and disembarking in Miami ... of course I claimed it and planned to do same in Galveston.

Default Yes, you can disembark with liquor purchased in ports...

and onboard liquor purchases as well in the Port of Galveston. TEXAS residents have a 1 liter of liquor limit according to the signs posted on Ecstasy.

I just came back from a 5 day cruise on Ecstasy and my group had no problems bringing back alcohol.

So do not despair. Enjoy your cruise!

Kathie is correct. The 1 liter limit per person applies to TEXAS residents only. For all other states, I believe the limit is 2 liters per person. But yes, you can either carry it off with you or pack in securely in your luggage. Bon Voyage!
