Just returned from Carnival Liberty -- awesome awesome cruise!! had the BEST room - Panaromic deck room 1067 -- you walk out, the door down to the Lido is right there along with the hot tub and big screen!! The killing of the guy in Costa Rica was hush hush -- didn't hear anything much on board but I know it must have put a damper on those people, but hats off to them! They defended themselves great! And one less criminal in the world! Book excursions with Carnival -- don't go out on your own in any port!! Went scuba diving, water rafting and on the panama canal tour if anyone has any questions let me know! Was on the ship by noon! Was off the ship by 7:45! However, had to bus to Miami airport and if you can imagine about 5 cruise ships worth of people heading to Miami airport and the mess it was! Any questions, let me know! We had a wonderful time!!
Elaine...I wish I had more time to write - and I will when I get the time! Its hard coming home with a desk at work stacked 2 feet high (was clear when I left)! And...stacks of bills/papers/taxes to prepare for, etc at home! However....I don't mind answering any questions! Don't know how much help I will be but they showed concerts and movies on the 'big screen' Some of these included Cher concert, Sheryl Crow concert, Pirates of the Caribbean 2 dead mans chest movie, Tina Turner concert, Superman returns movie, The Wild movie, James Taylor concert, The shaggy dog movie, The beach boys concert, Cars movie, Tom Jones concert, Talladega Nights movie, Andrew Loyd Webber concert. I may have missed a few. But, seems each night was a concert then a movie. Most of the movies also played the next day in the stateroom. We didn't hit all of them of course, but the ones we did hit, it was totally awesome sitting/laying outside under the stars watching something!
Casino --------- and Meet and Greet. Can't help you with either of these. I spent maybe 5.00 in the casino on the 5 cent machine!! I'm not a gambler (work to hard for $$ to let it go) and to scared to take the chance of loosing it. Sorry..........can't help you there.
We were in the Silver dining room at 5:45. Waiter/assistant were great but we missed some nights due to ports, naps, etc. Food was wonderful!
Arrive at the port? You mean coming home? We docked I guess between 4:30/5 a.m They started letting the self assist of the ship by 7:15 and went by decks 11 and 1 then 10 and 2 and so on. Went smooth - we were on deck 10 so I guess deck 2 had to wait until the elevators cleared to get on. Went smoothly through immigrations and customs - had the dog there sniffing ALL bags! I'm glad to see that. Then we had a transfer to the Miami airport --- and the airport was WILD! Nothing I want to experience again -- with 5 cruise ships worth of people trying to get luggage checked in for flights! It was awful! Had a 12:15 flight and if we were not the FIRST bus to leave the terminal - we would have missed our flight!
Any other questions??????????? When are you going??????????? I definitely want to sail the LIberty again!!!
Actually, I did mean what time did you get to the Port on the first day... We live about 1 hr north of the Port so don't rush to get off the ship....take it easy, eat breakfast, wait until they threaten us, then we leave!!!
We're leaving March 31st and I so can't wait.... Join us
I wish I could join you! I was on ship by noon!! However, they would not let us go to the stateroom until 1:30 (but we went at 1:00 because all was free and clear on our deck...panaroma 1067 AWESOME ROOM LOCATION) I would either get there early----------- or late. We got to the port at 11:15 and it flowed freely and quickly because the line was not long at all! Wish I were in driving distance!!
We're thinking about a cruise on the Liberty - long way down the road next February - does everyone fly into Miami or can yu also fly into Fort Lauderdale? Would it be less hectic to fly into Ft. Lauderdale?
