Default Helmet Dive

I was in Grand Turk last year and almost did this. It looks like a lot of fun but would like to know if anyone else has did this excursion and how much it was? I'm on the Glory in April and was looking at trying it out in St Thomas. Thanks ahead of time.

I did the helmet dive in Cozumel last June. It's one of the best tours I've done. One lady in our group was afraid of the water, but her husband talked her into it. She loved it and said she would do it again. I think it was about $80

Thanks for the info. Now did you go right off a boat like snorkling? And how was it getting in and out of the water?

I did it in Cozumel 2 years ago and it was about $80/pp then. We went out on a pier and climbed down a ladder.

My husband and daughter and I just did this in Grand Turk. We enjoyed it very much. You go off a boat but you just back down the ladder into the water. That was the worst part for me, I just kept bobbing up when I tried to step down, lol, but I finally got it. You walk along the ocean floor. There are coral and fish to see all around you. I think the cost was about $99.00. I'm not sure because my daughter arranged it. She actually works in a program with those kind of helmets.
Grand Turk is a beautiful place.

Thanks Cathy. I was kind of thinking that you would go off the back of a boat. I first saw this in Grand Turk but tried too late to sign up. It just looks like fun. I would assume boat shoes on your feet to help with the coral. Again thanks for the input.

We wore aqua socks but they did provide foot gear for the walk and also snorkel equipment. They split our group into two groups and the ones who weren't doing the helmet dive could snorkel until their turn or after their turn.

They also gave you the chance to have a picture taken, if they took it you had to pay. It was $10.00. We had one picture taken of the three of us.

Feel free to pm me if you have any other questions that I might be able to answer for you.
