We sailed out of NY on the Legend for our first cruise. To be honest, it was rocky and will probably avoid sailing out of NY (Bayonne, Philly) again.

There are extenuating circumstances however.... The prior cruise got back late due to a storm. We inturn left late and the captain was trying to make up for lost time(speeding). We also caught part of the same storm going out. So it was a but rough, I grew up on boats and still had some issues with sea sickness. We did however speak to some people the next morning at breakfast and they said it was the worst they ever had out of the North East. So it really depends on some things. No doubt it will be rougher then sailing out of the south. Its just nature.

On a side note, we felt that we had a little too much time on the boat with 2 full days at sea each way(3 days on the way back because someone jumped, whole other story though...) So we got a little bored. And with not so nice weather.. we couldnt hang out outside either.

Sooo, we probably will not sail out of NY again, unless its a great deal of a cruise.
