Has anyone been on the Holiday since Jan. 2007? Just wondering if everything is still running "OK" with the ship?????? We are going in April and know the ship is old and sometimes shows it's age!

Noticed that you haven't gotten any replies yet, so I thought I'd offer you one. We sailed over Christmas (pretty close to Jan 2007 ) and this ship is still in excellent shape. It was refurbished after Hurricane Katrina and has the new Carnival bedding - the beds are wonderful. Carpeting and walls all in great shape as are the bathrooms. The crew is constantly cleaning, painting, polishing, etc. Ventilation in the cabins was great over Christmas (maybe because it was warm, not hot out) and the first time we sailed on the Holiday, we noticed a sewage smell in parts of the ship and this last cruise we did not, so that is an improvement. The mini-golf course was a new feature and a very popular one - more people on the formerly topless deck that we have seen before. I don't think you will be disappointed. Yes, it is an old ship and if you look really, really close, you can spot some age and this ship does not have the latest and greatest decors and high-tech features, but the crew is fabulous and more than makes up for some tarnished brass.

This will be our third trip with the Holiday. The 1st trip was great, no trouble at all. Last year we had a little trouble with the shower and A/C. By the third day the shower was fixed. We where disappointed that the top deck was turned into a putt putt! We used it a lot on the 1st trip (before it was turned into putt putt). Surprised by how many people used it! Not many on the way out to Cozumel, but on the trip back, there where a lot! But the change won't stop us from sailing on the Holiday. We live just 45min. from Mobile! Just to convenient.

We are a firm believer that how much fun you have on a ship has nothing to do with the size of the ship! All in all, it's up to each individual on your overall enjoyment. That is how we look at ALL our vacations. We try not to let one or two things ruin the whole trip.
