Default Noisy cabin locations?

I will be booking our cruise on Sensation this week. My question is this..... Are any of the areas of the ship extremely NOISY? I was concerned that, since we cruise at night, the engine noise would be noticeable in certain areas. Thanks for any help!!!

Some locations more than other. Where is your room? If it is between to passenger decks it would be quieter than if it was above or below the lounge or one of the bars. I hear that under the galley is noisy on some ships. We were on the Main deck on the Elation (I think it is about the same as the Sensation) and it was very quiet except the final morning when we came back into our home port. It was early and the door for the harbor pilot boat was near our cabin. Some people notice noise more than other people, so what would be noisy to you might not be to somebody else.

The only time I have EVER had a problem with noise was with a cabin that was directly below the galley (pastry preparation area, to be exact!). Each night we heard the heavy trays being tossed around. There was a large sink with a large drain that we could hear the drain valve opening and the water draining down the piping. glurg, glurg, gurgle, glop  It was so bad that when a cabin became available, with only 2 nights left of a 7-day cruise, we relocated to an inside cabin, 2 decks below!

Ditto under the galley, and a forward cabin on the lowest deck will result in noise from the anchor if you tender out. Other than that, not much in the noise department. The last time out last month we had an ocean view on the lowest deck (#2) near the elevators. At night we heard nothing. If you are usually a very light sleeper this may have some effect.

My family and I were on the Sensation last July and we had a room on the Main deck -3 rooms from the back of the boat. I twas very loud when the ship is docking in port, you can hear the motors, chains, and crew members. I would not suggest getting rooms near the back of the boat. One night we went through a bad storm, and we got a lot of movement near the back. If you get sea sick, don't book one near the back.
