We're on the Fascination March 30 (yeah!) for a easy fun weekend....just was wondering, since we are in Nassau for 24 hours, is the casino on the ship open during that time? Thanks!
Casino's are open only when in international waters, not in port. this is true of all cruise ships.
Though that's normally the case, it's not entirely true. There are a couple of ports we've visited where the local gov't allows the ship's casino to open in the evenings. They've done this to encourage the ship's to stay later.
One port I remember this happening is St. Croix. I can't remember the other place this happened.
Maybe someone else can jump in if they recall for sure... it may well have been Nassau, I just can't say for certain.
I have been on this cruise several times and can assure you that the casino will be open during the evening while in Nassau. It is not open during the day however.
P.S. dont gamble at atlantis, go to crystal palace instead. lower minimums and friendlier service.

Wrong.....
Nassau is one of the Ports that allows the ships to keep their Casino's open.
Did the Sensation twice in the last 5 months to Nassau (one just 3 weeks ago) and on both trips, the Casino was indeed open in Nassau.
Might have something to do with the ship being in port for 24 hours...
(7AM-7AM)
The Bahamas might allow it, if ships are in port for at least 24 hours.
(which would explain why Carnival schedules quite a few ships with 24 hour stops in Nassau.)
Just returned from "Glory" cruise, which stopped for only 5 or 6 hours in Nassau, during the day. The casino was NOT open during that time, however, as stated above, perhaps they allow it to open in the evening, or if the ship is in port 24 hours. Have a great cruise.

I agree with not going to the casino at Atlantis. I think the slots are even tighter there than aboard ship! (if that's possible).
