Ocean Players Club
Is anybody a returning member? If you notify them do they do anthing for you?
|
You should notify them BEFORE you leave for your cruise. Then let the dealers and supervisors know when you're playing.
They could buy you drinks, maybe send you some wine at dinner, give you logo wear etc. depending on how much time you play. |
Thanks. I just gave them a call and they said there would be something in my room when I got there!
|
Their website said to contact them prior to sailing, and I sent an email. Got an email back from someone who basically said, "good. see you in the casino" I don't expect anything but will let you know when I return!

Honeywell.... I'll be getting on when you're getting off... Can you please tell the Casino Host to expect me!!! LOL I'm going to email them tonight and hopefully get some kind of response by Monday. I understand that they might be right in the middle of a change this month and I really want to email the one who will be on the March 31st cruise... Elaine :) |
I've contacted them before, each time getting an email stating I would recieve something and contacted by the casino host, each time nothing, so I don't bother anymore.

I sent an email to the casino host on the Glory that I will be returning. He emailed me back requesting my booking # and told me that there will be a gift in my cabin when I arrive.
|
When I last sailed (Facination 4/'04) I hit a sizable Jackpot on Slots. (Treasure Tunnel). I was given several Carnival "Izod" type shirts and some other trinkets. I emailed them that I am returning on 4/06, and they too emailed me and said I'd have some 'goodies" in my room when I arrive. Anyone ever actually reeceive anything?

I think I'll beat them at their own little game. I'll print out the email I received indicating all the "goodies" that would await me, and when I get to my room, if nothing is there...I'll take it up with the Casino Manager/Host.
|
Good idea!! I haven't contacted the casino host (yet) but I did contact the Ocean Players Club. I received an email response that had our "points' on it and she requested our booking number. Said they will be goodies waiting for us....we'll see if they are there on the Victory April 22.

Elaine, not only will I tell them to be on the lookout for you, I will leave a lot of my own money in the casino for you to win! (I'm a giver...) Good luck! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Guess what honeywell... The passengers on the cruise after mine are going to be very happy.... because they're going to have your money and mine!!! I also am usually a giver :( By the way, the last time we boarded the ship, our room was made up with Bon Voyage decorations hanging from the ceiling etc. Although we're not for certain, because there was nothing in the cabin telling us, we think it might have been a gift from the casino staff.... Whoever it was from, it was really pretty and nice to leave up the whole week.... |

I once wrote to them after reading that I may get some gifts on this site and here's what I got.

Also, can I sign up for the OPC prior to the cruise or on board only? Thanks, Matt |
Matt,
I would seriously write again about 3 weeks before from your cruise. Casino Host might change by then, or you might even get a different response. I think you may have written way too far in advance. I'm leaving in 20 days and still haven't contacted the Casino Host on-board the ship, just the Ocean Players Club.... Never hurts to get in touch with as many employees as you can!!! I'll let you know upon my return... Elaine :) |

Just got a response that there will be some sort of surprise in my room.
|
I just got a new reply from a new casino host (other than the one I heard from initially) saying, good, see you there, be sure to play in our slot/bj tournaments.
I"ve really gotta up my bankroll this trip!!! LOL LOL LOL |

Did your response come from Scott? I got an email from him last night but I can't see it right now (the nerve of my job place to block me from AOL!!). I'll try to post it tonite when I get home... I also found out that when you click the button for Liberty & Legend Casino Host, well guess what??? ... it goes right to the OPC Mail because those two ships don't have the link set-up for email thru that site!!! The reason I know this is because I emailed both the ship and OPC and got a response for both but from the same exact person!!! So, I called Dena last night (the Rep who answered both of my emails) who told me she would forward my email to the ship and then Scott emailed me late last night.... GOOOOOOOOOO FIGURE!!!! |
I don't think anyone should be expecting to get anything too bid from OPC.
You may get a decorated cabin, or possibly a bottle of wine...if you're already a very established player. If you play slots the machines track your play, and collect points which you can cash in at the end of the cruise for logo stuff or cash back. It takes ALOT of play to get anywhere.... but if you spend alot of time gambling, something is better than nothing I guess LOL For table players... if you are high limit players and make sure the pit supervisors notice your play, you'll get some free drinks while playing. Other than that... a bag of logo "junk" at the end of the cruise. If you're a BIG player... you may get a bottle of wine sent to you in the dining room.... and maybe, maybe an offer to send you to the alternate restaurant for dinner. When OPC first began they had a fairly decent cash back program for table players too, but that went away a couple of years back. I'm presently working on an article about cruise ship casinos/gambling and high roller programs, and OPC tells me that their "members" are 70% slot players, and 30% table players. It takes much longer times of play to earn points at the tables, than on the slots. That's because you can lose money much more quickly on the slots. Table games are better odds, so theoretically it takes longer to lose. |

OK Kuki, So curious minds want to know (OK, I do!!).... what did you get??? I did get 2-3 free drinks while playing, my cabin was decorated and I did get that " bag of logo "junk" at the end of the cruise "... Plus, I have a $25 credit waiting for me when I board the Liberty March 31st... I mostly play 3 Card Poker but do also hit the machines... Oh, and I love the decorations and the bag of junk.... I wear my Casino Players Club shirt proudly, usually the first day of the cruise!!! |
Kuki I agree with you. I play a decent amount when I do play. I was given some logo stuff that was not really any good. My thought is to not put too much stock in winning on the boat. I heard that in Vegas slots pay 97% and on the boat it is in the 80's. I am not on the boat to gamble for the most part anyway. I can go to the local casino if I need that. Get out into the sun and FUN!!!!

Here is my letter back from OPC. I play table games (BJ). Just wondering what it means, if any, when they say that we are on their "guest list" for the upcoming cruise. This will actually be our first Princess cruise. 7 other cruises on Carnival, with the last having been in March on the Liberty. The Pitboss did buy some drinks for me. Other than that, had never contacted them before this.
Hi Brian, Thanks for contacting the Ocean Players Club! We're glad to hear your sailing again! After reviewing our records we would like to offer you $100.00 and Deborah $25.00 in either chips or tokens. Please present a photo I.D. to the Cashier's Cage onboard and they will grant you this amount. Also, I have placed you on our OPC guest list for your upcoming sailing. Hope you have a great cruise, and the best of luck while spending time in the Casino! Best Regards, Dena T. Williams Player Development Coordinator Carnival Corporation-Casino 1-800-522-7466 ext.#16047 Email - dwilliams2@carnival.com www.oceanplayersclub.com Original letter I sent them (personal info. "x'd" out) is as follows: Dear Carnival Casino Host, From: xxxxxx(xxxxxx@yahoo.com) Address: xxxxxxx City: Vero Beach State/Province: FL Zip/Postal Code: 32966 Phone: xxx-xxx-xxxx Fax: To: oceanplayersclubfeedback@carnival.com; Comments/Questions: Debi and I will be sailing the Sapphire Princess to Alaska on August 11, 2007. Would you be able to pull up our information from past cruises to see how we rate/any perks available. Debi played strictly slots, while I played both slots and table games (mainly blackjack $25 and up table). Our most recent cruise was this past March 3rd on the Carnival Liberty, and prior to that was again on the Liberty on March 18, 2006. My past guest # is xxxxxxxxx. Address has changed since most recent cruise. Address was: xxxx/xxxx xxxx Alpharetta, GA 30004 Any help would be great. Thanks...Our cabin on this cruise is guaranteed, but is listing as cabin #xxxx. Thanks again. xxxxxxx |
On my last cruise my wife won one of the slot touranments and got the bag of junk and a trophey that sits proudly on her desk at work. Think that will buy us any perks with OPC?
|
I emailed the Ocean Players Club (to enquire how many points I'd accumulated) before our B2B2B cruises on the Fascination this past May. Dena responded and told me to go to the cashier's cage to pick up $50 credit (they handed over cash). I also received another $75 credit on the 3rd cruise, plus we each got a tote bag of logo stuff and the casino host bought our drinks 2 nights. In the past we've received the Bon Voyage decorations in the cabin plus the fruit and cheese basket.
I emailed OPC after we got back from the cruises and told them I'd be on the Miracle in Sept....Dena told me I'd have a $100 credit. So, guess you have to put LOTS of money in the slot machines LOL Note that emailing the casino host is a different thing than getting casino credits, etc from Ocean Players Club |
just wondering, i've sailed with carnival 7 times, donated much too much, been given t shirts after winning jackpots on the slots and redonating the winnings. how do i or did i join the club?
