Default Getting Around Nassau

We would like to get to Cable Beach and go to Crystal Palace. What is the cheapest way to get there?

Is there an alternative to a taxi or those boats that go to atlantis? Some type of bus possibly?

Yup, really easy to get to Cable Beach/Crystal Palace... Walk to the Straw Market, cross the street and catch the #10 jitney (bus) to Cable Beach... Tell the bus driver where you're going and he'll call it out when you get there... Also, ask because there is also a 10A jitney and one is a local, the other one is express!! I believe the fare is $1 which you pay when you get off... They also like exact change....

It's about a 10-15 minute ride and also a bit of "Island Tour" as well!! Enjoy..

when I was there is August we took the 10A which I was under the impression was the fastest. Don't know for sure but it took about 15 minutes to get there.

Just cruisin I had the same thoughts. My sister and I are going to Nassau in April and are wondering if its safe to jump the public transportation or just hail a cab. Atlantis is on our list to of things to see.

Nassau/Cable Beach are "safe" Islands. Obviously, no matter where you are you have to be careful, but this is not one that you have to warned about...

We've taken the jitney everytime we've been to Nassau and love it... Depending on the time, and how we feel, sometimes we take the jitney back and sometimes we just grab a taxi right outside the Crystal Palace Hotel (always lots of them there).

As far as Atlantis, I personally can't help you there because I refuse to pay just to see their property!!! Plus, we love Crystal Palace...

Elaine thanks for the reply back. Can you please tell me what you do when you go to the Crystal Palace and is it just a hotel?

Hiya Ro... There really is plenty to do @ Crystal Palace. Yes, it is a hotel but..... they don't mind if you use their facilities. They have the beach and a pool. There is food and drinks right there. You can also for a charge enjoy their beachside massage, jetskis, parasaiing etc. Most cruise ship passengers use the beach but I have seen a few that bring a plain dark blue towel with them (which is the same color as the hotels towels) and use the lounges at the pool.

And, of course, they do have a casino. Their casino is very nice, has plently of tables, lots of slot machines plus friendly dealers and the table limits are usually $5. minimum.

Across the street, there is a small straw market that you can shop at.

I have used this hotel both as a cruise ship passenger and a guest who has flown in and stayed over for 2 days and always enjoy myself there.
