Galley Tours??
Has anyone taken a Galley tour on the ships? I think it would be interesting. I never did see where is was offered on the Elation. Is it only offered on certain ships. Where would I sign up for one and do they charge for this tour? Thanks for any help you can offer on this one.

Not sure about Carnival, but many cruise lines do offer galley tours... and there's no cost to do them.
Ask at the guest relations desk ... see if they have a list you can sign up to request a galley tour.

Floridanamaw;
We askesd about it last month on the Glory. We were told due the Noravirus threat they no longer did it. I don't know if that is Carnival wide. That is just what we were told.

Okay, thanks. Maybe when we board I will ask and see if they have started giving them again.

tour
Hi,
I have taken a galley tour on all six past cruises. They are listed in the Caper when they are offered. It is very interesting to see how they can prepare so many meals in such a short time. Also to see how clean everything is. Enjoy

We toured the galley on Ecstasy this past July. Great tour! It was listed in the Capers.

I'll check the capers each day to see, or just ask at the pursers desk.

Just got off the Victory Sun. They did a galley tour but I do not remember seeing it in the capers. They announced it at the dinner the night before and over the PA the evening before as I recall. Met in a lounge, had a nice talk from the tour guy and a very very brief walk thru the galley. Interesting-I would certainly do it again-check at the pursers if I were you to make sure I did not miss it.
Side note-left mid 80s to come home to snow knee deep--can someone explain why?

I took the galley tour on Carnival Facination just last week. It was very nice. We took a tour from one side if it all the way through. In my caper it was listed on the Fun day at sea 3:30.

I would really like to take the galley tour if they offer it when I am aboard. So I will make sure to check with the desk when we board to check on it.

We took the galley tour a couple of years ago and loved it... It was overwhelming to see how they actually prepare 3000 meals....
BTW, do they still try to sell you the cookbooks at the end of the tour????

Yes, we did this on the Victory in February, and it was a very popular tour. They only announced it during dinner the night before--it was not listed in the Capers, and I don't think it was announced over the PA at all, either. Nonetheless, there were quite a few passengers interested in this.

We just came off "Glory", and one of the perks for Platinum members was a Galley Tour. I didn't sign up for it, but probably should have. They delivered a personal invitation to the cabin, and asked that if we were interested, that we contact the purser.

So, since I am not a "platinum" member more that likely I won't be able to do the galley tour.........that's not fair

We were on the Elation in February and during the ship's tour, the crew member said they weren't doing galley tours for security reasons. After reading about everyone going on them recently, I looked over my Capers and did not see it mentioned anywhere so it appears that it depends on which ship you are on whether they have them or not. Either way, next cruise I will definitely ask about it at the Pursers Desk.

No, we sailed Valentine's week, which I think was a great choice for our first cruise experience.

Hey Chris I also sailed on the Miracle last month, but missed the galley tour. Which date did you sail. I left on the 11th.

Galley tours are great. Most ships offer them as long as they don't have an outbreak of novovirus recently. And yes there are always cookbooks to be bought.
